Because of the sense of recognition and admiration in their meanings, the words 'respect' and 'honor' are synonyms of each other. They can both be used to show esteem or regard for someone or something.
Today honour and respect are both synonyms of each other and to try applying them to your life and parents, will bring upon yourself a massive "Fiery Trial." You will need to understand these Scriptures inside out completely, for your own sanity. Of course you do not tell your parents you are respecting them or honouring them, you just do it. If you can believe me, that by doing this commandment, all hell will break loose on you. If you do not give in and tell anyone in the family that you are respecting your parents, after a while you will see Yahusha moving in miraculous ways. These Scriprures will really help your journey,
1 Peter 4:12-19: BELOVED ONES, DO NOT BE SURPRISED AT THE FIERY TRIAL THAT IS COMING UPON YOU, TO TEST YOU, AS THOUGH SOME UNUSUAL MATTER HAS BEFALLEN YOU, BUT AS YOU SHARE MASHIAK'S SUFFERINGS, REJOICE, IN ORDER THAT YOU MIGHT REJOICE EXULTINGLY AT THE REVELATION OF HIS ESTEEM. IF YOU ARE REPROACHED FOR THE NAME OF MASHIAK, YOU ARE BLESSED, BECAUSE THE RUACH OF ESTEEM AND OF ALAHIM RESTS UPON YOU. ON THEIR PART HE IS BLASPHEMED, BUT ON YOUR PART HE IS PRAISED. FOR DO NOT LET ANY OF YOU FEEL WRETCHED AS A FORMER MURDERER, OR THIEF, OR DOER OF EVIL, OR AS A MEDDLER, OR CHRISTIANS, LET HIM NOT BE DISTRESSED, BUT LET HIM ESTEEM ALAHIM IN THIS MATTER. BECAUSE IT IS TIME FOR JUDGEMENT TO BEGIN FROM THE HOUSE OF ALAHIM AND IF FIRSTLY FROM US, WHAT IS THE END OF THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY THE BESORAH OF ALAHIM? AND IF THE JUST ONE IS SCARCELY DELIVERED, WHERE SHALL THE WICKED AND SINNER APPEAR? SO THEN, THOSE WHO SUFFER ACCORDING TO THE DESIRE OF ALAHIM SHOULD COMMIT THEIR LIVES TO A TRUSTWORTHY CREATOR, IN DOING GOOD. Can you imagine all this happening to you for just respecting your parents? If you don't do it then you will never know the difference. Remember you don't tell anyone - just do it.
