The instruction here tells us that we repent,get immersed in the name of Yahusha Mashiak for the forgiveness of our sins, and by doing this we will receive the Ruach ha 'Qodesh. ..................................................................................................
In the days of Cornelius, Yahuah was proving a special thing to the Jews by showing them that these gentiles have received the Ruach, by making them speak in languages they did not know. This is showing the Jews that the gentiles had now entered the Reign of Yahuah, and were just as entitled as they were. After this the order of obedience was issued that they must be immersed immediately. ..................................................................................................
There is an old religious reasoning, whereby some people say they have experienced the same as Cornelius. They don't get immersed for some reason & they know they should, but make excuses.As we see it did not take Cornelius and his troupe long to get the message "immerse immediately," and in the act of obedience were immersed. ..................................................................................................
People having this experience don't say they spoke in languages which they never knew (proof of the spirit). They then hold out on immersion in wilful disobedience. Obviously they have been listening to wrong teaching, which their behaviour shows. Yahusha has already proven His point to Cornelius 2000 years ago & obviously does not need us to continue a charade.
