THE TALKING DONKEY

YAHUSHA WILL REBUKE BEHAVIOUR THROUGH ANYONE!

In the "stone-quarry" of our daily lives, Yahusha is constantly chiselling away at our ego to shape us into "living stones." Sometimes, we are so blinded by our own agendas and "fleshly" desires that He must use the most unexpected means to stop us in our tracks. The account of Numbers 22–25 reveals a profound truth: YAHUSHA IS NOT LIMITED BY PUR EXPECTATIONS! If we refuse to hear His Spirit, He will speak through a beast of burden, a stranger, or even a child.

A KING, SORCERER & SOVEREIGN DECREE

Israel was camped on the plains of Moab, having just crushed the Amorites. King Balak of Moab was terrified. He knew he couldn't win on the battlefield, so he sought a spiritual 'hitman'. He hired Balaam, a famous Mesopotamian sorcerer, to curse Israel. Balak believed what many in the world still believe: that spiritual power can be bought and that rituals can manipulate the Almighty. But Balaam, despite his greed, knew a terrifying truth:

YOU CAN'T CURSE (speak against) WHAT ALAHIM HAS BLESSED!

A DIVINE INTERRUPTION

Balaam set out on his donkey, lured by the "wages of unrighteousness."

Though he 'claimed' to only speak what Yahuah Alahim told him, his heart was already negotiating.

• SWORD IN THE WAY: The Messenger of Alahim stood in the road with a drawn sword to kill Balaam for his rebellious heart.

• DONKEY'S DISCERNMENT: Balaam, the 'great seer,' was completely blind to the spiritual reality. However, his donkey saw the angelic Messenger.

• THE BEATING: Three times the donkey turned away to save Balaam’s life, and three times Balaam beat the donkey in a rage.

  
  

WHY THE DONKEY SPOKE?

Alahim opened the donkey’s mouth to rebuke the "madness of the prophet" (2 Peter 2:16). This wasn't just a miracle; it was a humiliation of fleshly arrogance. Balaam was so consumed by his ego and anger that he didn't even marvel at a talking animal—he argued with it! The lesson is obvious! When we are determined to have our own way, we often 'beat the donkey.' We get angry at the interruptions, the delays, and the people who try to warn us, failing to realise that the 'inconvenience' is actually DIVINE COMPASSION AND PROTECTION blocking our path to destruction.

NEW COVENANT MOUTHPIECE!

In the wilderness of our modern lives, Yahusha is training us to overcome evil behaviour. Our homes are the primary training ground. We often think Yahusha will only speak through 'spiritual authorities,' but the New Covenant shows He delights in 'using the lowly to confound the wise' ... even our kids!

1. The Fearless Clarity of Children

Yahusha said we must become like little children to enter the Kingdom. Children are often very accurate mouthpieces in a home because:

• They see plainly: They haven't learned to "mask" or be "polite" about sin.

• They flee evil: They have an instinctive aversion to the "darkness" or "heaviness" of demonic behaviour.

• They are fearless: A child may look at a parent in the middle of a rage or tantrum and ask a simple, piercing question that exposes the heart’s condition, usually revealing a demon.

If you find yourself being rebuked by your child’s honesty, do not "beat the donkey" by silencing them with anger. LISTEN! Yahusha may be using their purity to call you back to repentance.

2. No Moral Neutrality

Balaam thought he could be neutral - taking the money while 'technically obeying' the words. But Yahuah Alahim rejects neutrality, lukewarmness, and gutlessness! You cannot serve the Master and your own comfort! In our homes, this looks like:

• Spiritual Fornication: Blending cultural behaviour with Yahusha's worship/behaviour.

• Idolatry of Approval: Refusing to rebuke sin in the home just to 'keep the peace!'

THE SEDUCTION STRATEGY

Balaam eventually realised he couldn't curse Israel from the outside. So, he taught Balak how to destroy them from the inside. He suggested using Moabite women to seduce the men into sexual immorality and idol worship (Num 25). THIS IS A WARNING FOR THE BRIDE TODAY: The enemy doesn't need to "curse" you if he can get you to compromise.

When we bring "Moabite" values (pornography, greed, rudeness, abuse, hate, worldliness etc) into our Home Quarries ... WE INVITE THE PLAGUE OF CONSEQUENCES!

WILL YOU LISTEN TO HIS VOICE?

Yahusha WILL get your attention! He will speak to the bad behaviour, the hidden idolatry, and the 'demonic patterns' in your household.

• He might speak through a spouse’s concern.

• He might speak through a child’s simple observation.

• He might speak through the "closed doors" of your circumstances ($$$)

DON'T BE LIKE BALAAM, who possessed spiritual gifts but lacked spiritual submission and obedience. It is better to be a 'donkey' that sees the sword than a 'prophet' who is about to be cut down and humbled!

• Stop the Beating: Examine the things currently 'obstructing your path'. Is it the enemy, or is it Yahusha protecting you from your own greed?

• Humility in the Quarry: Accept rebuke from the 'unlikely.' If the truth is spoken, it doesn't matter if it comes from a child or a donkey—it is still the Truth.

• Flee Idolatry: Purge the 'seductions of worldly Moab' from your home. Consciously start practising set-apartness in the fear of Yahusha. your Alahim the Lamb!

YAHUSHA IS ALWAYS SPEAKING!
