THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-CONTROL: BUT NOT TO WANTING TO CONTROL!
The Scriptures offer various perspectives on control, both Alahim’s Sovereignty and Rule and the importance of personal self-control. Scriptures highlight Alahim’s ultimate control over all things, including human lives and events. Also, the Scriptures encourage believers to exercise self-control in their thoughts, actions, and emotions, recognising it as a fruit of the Spirit.
Self-Control: The Scriptures emphasise the importance of self-control as a key virtue, essential for living a clean life and resisting temptation. Bringing no mixture into the home or our vessels. What does Yahusha say about being in control?
Proverbs 19:21:
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is Yahusha’s purpose that prevails”.
People may have their own plans, but Alahims’ ultimate purpose is what really happens.
Jeremiah 10:23:
“I know, O Alahim, that a man’s fate is not in his own hands, nor is it in his power to direct his steps.”
Showing the limitations of human control over life’s events and highlights Yahusha’s role in directing all things. Our control falls flat here...
Romans 8:28:
“And we know that in all things Alahim works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Yahusha’s active role in orchestrating events for the benefit of believers.
Ephesians 1:11:
“In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in accordance with the purpose of His will.”
Yahusha’s preordained plan for believers and His ultimate control over all things.
THE IMPORTANCE OF
SELF-CONTROL:
BUT NOT TO WANTING TO
CONTROL!
Proverbs 25:28:
“Like a city whose walls are broken down is a person who does not control their temper.”
We need self-control as our personal defence and stability ... it’s for us!
2 Timothy 1:7:
“For Yahusha did not give us a spirit of fear (timid), but of power and love and self-discipline/control.”
Emphasising that Yahusha provides the ability and way for self-control.
Mark 7:20-23 is clear that our acts flow from our heart; an abusive person chooses to do what they do because they want what they want, what comes out of a man is what defiles him!
A desire for control is often linked to fear, anxiety and a lack of trust in Yahusha’s provision. These are underlying issues as control-seeking behaviours in relationships and personal lives. Control-seeking behaviour can be stopped by trusting in Alahim and letting go of fear. That (all important) rule is to let EVERYONE HAVE WHAT THEY WANT to say or do, without a complaint or fuss. ... but genuine understanding!
Because Scripture tells us, it’s important to be humble and have a servant attitude, contrasting it with the desire for dominance and control and the strict adherence to rules or protocols. The Scriptures encourage believers to trust Alahim’s plans and leave control to Him. This means surrendering to Alahim’s will and letting go of the need to manage every aspect of life.
Scripture promotes humility with a servant Spirit as the way to live peacefully. The Golden Rule, is in Matthew 7:12: “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” This rule is a summary of the Believer’s duty.
So we can run like an athlete striving for a prize and give the importance of discipline and self-control going after spiritual goals much more importance than anything that I see or do in this worldly life. Can we see Yahusha’s control and Sovereignty over all things?
And it may not look like it by the way the world is going .... but as spiritual beings, we can see now, what’s the use in fighting....
As we are cleaning out the final “skerricks” of the mixture in our quarries to be fully free of all entanglements that hold us. We are not our own, we’ve been bought by our deliverer’s blood that has cleansed us from all our wrongs, forgiveness is given to us so we can have a clear mind, not full of guilt...
What a horrendous but exciting journey, when i look back and can only say, well, Yahusha, you have patience and have worked an astounding miracle in my life, to be able to unravel the impossible twisted madness that I was living in. I give in and let you have it...all
the way, your way, your truth and you are the life i’ve been searching for all these years.
Thank you ...
