WHAT DEMONS ARE (HEBREW & SCRIPTURAL UNDERSTANDING)
1. What Demons are NOT :
Scripture never presents demons as cartoon monsters or equal rivals to Alahim. That idea comes largely from later mythology, not the Hebrew worldview.
They are:
Created beings (not eternal)
Disembodied spirits
Unclean
Parasitic, not creative
Dependent on humans for expression
“They sacrificed to demons, not to Alahim.” (DEUT 32:17)
Demons are counterfeit spiritual influences that attach themselves to disobedience, deception, and fleshly behaviour.
2. Hebrew Language Insights :
The Hebrew Scriptures use several terms:
Shedim (שֵׁדִים)
Meaning: destructive spirits
Linked with idolatry and false worship
Always connected to behavioural rebellion
“They sacrificed to shedim, not to Alahim.” (DEUT 32:17)
Ruach Tameh (ר֫וּחַ טָמֵא)
Meaning: unclean spirit
Emphasises moral impurity, not power
“Yahuah said, ‘Who will entice Ahab?’ … and a spirit came forward.” (1 KINGS 22:21–23)
The issue is uncleanness, not strength.
3. Where Demons come from (Scriptural frame)
Scripture points to demons as fallen, disembodied spirits associated with rebellion against Alahim’s order (Genesis 6; Psalm 82; Jude 1:6).
They:
Seek rest
Seek expression
Seek authority through permission
“The unclean spirit goes through dry places seeking rest.” (MATT 12:43)
This verse reveals something critical:👉 Demons do not have rest unless they inhabit.
HOW DEMONS ENTER A PERSON (SCRIPTURAL MECHANISM)
Demons do not enter randomly.
They require:
Access
Agreement
Continuation
1. The Primary Entry Point: THE MIND (EAR-GATE)
Hebrew anthropology sees the human as:
Flesh (body)
Spirit (inner man)
Thoughts are spiritual suggestions that pass through the mind toward the heart.
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (PROV 23:7)
Demons enter first as:
Thoughts
Suggestions
Emotional reactions
Interpretations
Not possession — permission.
2. The Heart as the Gateway
“Guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life.” (PROV 4:23)
If a thought is:
Entertained
Repeated
Justified
Acted upon
…it becomes behaviour.
Behaviour becomes habitation.
3. Behaviour Opens the Door!
Scripture is extremely clear: demons attach to works of the flesh, not random people.
“Give no place to the devil.” (EPH 4:27)
The word place (Greek topos) means:
Territory
Ground
Legal space
Common entry behaviours Scripture names:
Unforgiveness (2 Corinthians 2:10–11)
Sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:16)
Idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:20)
Pride (1 Timothy 3:6)
Persistent anger (Ephesians 4:26–27)
Deception and lies (John 8:44)
Demons do not force entry — they exploit disobedience already chosen.
4. Why Yahusha cast out Demons so often?
Yahusha treated demons as:
Illegal squatters
Secondary problems
Symptoms, not causes
He addressed:
Belief
Authority
Obedience
“This kind comes out only by prayer and fasting.” (MATT 17:21)
Why? Because prayer aligns authority, and fasting weakens flesh agreement.
WHY DEMONS SEEK HUMANS?
Demons:
Have no body
Have no authority
Have no creative power
Humans:
Are made in Alahim’s image
Carry authority
Speak reality into action
So demons seek to:
Ride behaviour
Amplify reactions
Entrench patterns
Keep people in flesh-rule
“The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.” (JOHN 10:10)
WHY THE BRIDE IS TARGETED MORE INTENSELY?
“The dragon was enraged with the woman and went to make war with the rest of her offspring.”(Revelation 12:17)
The Bride:
Is awakening spiritually
Is leaving Babylon
Is controlling her thoughts
Is walking in obedience
This threatens the system.
So the attack is subtle:
Distraction
Offence
Exhaustion
Religious confusion
Flesh temptation
Emotional reactivity
Not dramatic possession — daily erosion.
HOW DELIVERANCE ACTUALLY WORKS (SCRIPTURALLY)
Deliverance is not shouting demons out.
It is:
Truth replacing lies
Obedience replacing compromise
Authority replacing fear
Behaviour replacing reaction
“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (JOHN 8:32)
When agreement is removed, demons leave.
“Resist the devil, and he will flee.” (JAMES 4:7)
SIMPLE SUMMARY
Demons enter through:
Unguarded thoughts
Unchecked emotions
Repeated sinful behaviour
Agreement with lies
They stay through:
Justification
Habit
Unrepented compromise
They leave through:
Truth
Obedience
Humility
Authority in Yahusha
The Bride’s protection is not fear —it is discipline of thought, heart, and behaviour.
“Take every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah.” (2 COR 10:5)
That is the true battlefield.
