This photo above of mutual submission is not the impression Turah gives us of a marriage, besides the word is SUBJECT yourselves to, not SUBMIT yourselves to - quite a different meaning. Eph 5:21..... "Subjecting yourselves to each other in the fear of Yahuah". Why would Yahuah want us to do such behaviour? Well read from Ephesians 1-21 and you will understand the incorrect behaviour that we don't bring into our marriage and what not to behave within the family home. Brothers, MARRIAGE IS A BEHAVIOUR and this is why Behaviour Revolution is explaining how all Scripture must be behaved first, to receive and understand the benefits of the application of Turah and the ensuing results. Behaving Turah instruction in our marriage entitles us to Covenantal Blessings. Eph 5:22 says, "WIVES SUBJECT YOURSELVES TO YOUR OWN HUSBANDS, AS TO THE MASTER." This is something every married woman must come to terms with HERSELF - do some research on the word "subject". WHY WOULD YAHUAH WANT THE WIVES TO DO SUCH A BEHAVIOUR? Verse 23 says "Because the husband is the head of the asha,as also the Mashiak is head of the assembly and He is Deliverer of the body". So girls by subjecting yourselves to your husband your body will be delivered. This is the behaviour Satan does not want wives or women to overcome. Not forgetting the men's behaviour Eph 5:25......."Husbands love your wives, as Mashiak did also love the assembly and gave himself for it". Plenty to keep yourselves busy there guys but reading until the end of this chapter will give us a complete understanding of the instruction of how to love as Yahusha loved. Brothers I am 68 years old (the same age as Israel). Israel always brags about her accomplishments and what a benefit she is to the world, yet I have never seen her behave as Turah instruction says and she is the keeper of the Word. I have never in my life of 38 married years seen my wife or myself reach this complete standard and really no one can question our love - don't you feel the same. I visited the author of many books of Natsarim love Lew White and could see he and Phyllis had not reached the goal of true mutual submission yet, but no one could question their love. Brothers I have come to realise that this goal DOES exist in the end days Bride Company, whether or not I will be alive to be in that group I can't say. This will not deter us from striving for that overcoming to please our Master through whatever storm that we have to go through. Be encouraged brothers and sisters and keep striving. Sometimes you want to say, "just do as you are told . . . . where is the respect and love." After going through this turmoil then we start running ourselves down and we can't speak to the Father or even face Him. These sort of simple daily turmoils can be explained away and we say that it will all be better in the morning, but it never really is and this chaos seems endless. You wonder to yourself is it all worth it to continue. Brothers and Sisters this behaviour and thinking is unclean spiritual activity dominating your family life, but there is a way and a weapon guaranteed to act like a nuclear blast of destruction to the unclean inhabitants of your family and home - immediately you apply it. This weapon is called THE 3 RULES and introducing and applying this weapon into every part of your own life will be like an atomic blast that REVEALS THE UGLINESS OF THE UNCLEAN. These rules are formulated from Scripture and Turah says heaven and earth will pass away but My Word will remain. THE UNCLEAN CAN MOVE INTO OUR LIVES BECAUSE OF UNGUARDED BEHAVIOURS WHICH LEAVE HOLES IN THE PROTECTIVE BARRIER OF TURAH. THE 3 RULES WHICH ARE LITERALLY A COVERING-FACTOR OF BEHAVIOUR CLOSES UP THESE HOLES IN THE PROTECTIVE BARRIER. The unclean are then trapped inside the barrier with no escape and are melted away from the radiation of your new nuclear weapon. One very important thing to remember is listen to the voice of Yahusha as you apply the 3 rules (which can't be defeated by the unclean). He will guide you into victory upon victory. NEVER BE AFRAID TO SPEAK THE TRUTH. Sometimes you may see a family member about to make a mistake that you know won't work from your own experience. Please tell them that it won't work, before it happens. THIS BEHAVIOUR BUILDS TRUST IN YOUR FAMILY THAT YOUR WORDS ARE TRUTH. DO NOT CAST THE NAME OF YAHUAH YOUR ALAHIM TO RUIN. Not using the name Yahuah instead of "GOD" is casting Yahuah's name to ruin, which is a most distinctive behaviour. 4. REMEMBER THE SHABATH TO KEEP IT QODESH. Resting with no buying or selling on Shabath is a very definite behaviour. 5. RESPECT YOUR FATHER & YOUR MOTHER, is a behaviour of respect that teaches us many lessons by application. 6. YOU DO NOT MURDER. Otherwise you become a liar who suffers unless you repent and tell the truth. 10. YOU DO NOT COVERT YOUR NEIGHBOURS WIFE, HOUSE, FIELD, SERVANTS, ANIMALS, OR ANYTHING BELONGING TO YOUR NEIGHBOUR. There are 7 'DO NOTS' in the Commandments and there are 3 others that say : 1. Have no other - 4.Remember Shabath - 5.Respect the "olds." VIOLENCE IS BECOMING A PLAGUE OF GLOBAL PROPORTIONS. Once a plague gets into a population it devastates communities. We are warned by prophecy that these last days will be as the days of Noah, where the world was so full of violence that it had to be destroyed. Pre-flood Nephilim blood completely corrupted humanity, except for Noah and his family - the only ones left from the pure bloodline of Adam. Today violence is the corruption destroying family and communities globally. Hollywood is pushing violence on all levels of behaviour which is encapsulating both young and old in copy-cat behaviour. When the Fallen Malakim (angels), taught women how to procreate with them, the genetic offspring of this union produced a deformed gargantuan called a giant. When giants roamed this earth they had veracious appetites in all things and it seemed nothing could stop their dominance. Giants came in all shapes and sizes and reproduced themselves through all species. These deformities all had a gene in common which was VIOLENCE . . . As we well know and it is recorded that Noah and his family were the only ones left on earth with the pure bloodline of Adam. The creation had become a grotesque apparition of what was originally designed and this horrid deformity filled the earth with nothing but violence. It had come to the point where humanity was a devouring uselessness and had to be destroyed. Only Noah could save the original design of humanity by being separated from the Malakim spawn . . . . . so we had the flood. After the flood, giants have re-appeared haphazardly, but not enough to dominate humanity again. We do understand from Scripture that MIXING GENES CREATES VIOLENT ABOMINATIONS WITH DISASTROUS CONSEQUENCES, but today this does not seem to deter our possessed scientists, who are seeking to produce more and more gene mixtures unawares of the outcome. Scripture says in the last days it will be like the days of Noah - that can only mean that there are things walking amongst us that should not be there. Again today we are also faced with a dilemma, another mixture that causes violence. When we were given the written word we were told not to mix the truth with idolatry, otherwise we would be introducing a deformity (curse) that would ruin our mindsets, which is called sanity. Humanity has medically come to the stage where billboard posting in the local surgery says, "ASK DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH." This so called "CURSE" is upon us because we have mixed traditions with Torah (Turah). The violence of religion (THE MIXTURE), is dominating humanity's landscape to the point where sanity and truth hold no credence. Just as the deformed gene of the violence of gargantua dominated humanity pre-flood, again today humanity is facing another mixture crisis. Turah and traditions have been mixed into a packaged mindset taking our sanity and leaving violence in it's place. Humanity is again disappointing it's Creator and all who disagree with the Turah will be punished with destruction. If you feel your situation is impossible to be delivered from think again - the Master of humanity shed His blood for our deliverance and if you truly believe in the Master Yahusha and return to Turah behaviour, you will find your deliverance - I wouldn't waste any time though. Dumpy dum de dumpy dum..............loved the singing and photography - just fab, but I want to cry when i see how teachers and (rabbis) have deluded these lovely young folk. After 2,000 years we have come home!!!! PLEASE. We all know the New Yerushalayim will come down from the sky (Shamayim) where it was built by Messiah, when she (us), the New Yerushalayim returns to earth as His Bride. This is the city we are all waiting to be part of and live in eternally. If I believed Israel (Yisharal) is where Messiah wanted my family to be, we would be there in a flash. We know the reapers will journey to the 4 corners of this earth to retrieve His Bride when Messiah appears. Nowhere in Scripture does Messiah tell us to gather in one nation. Israel was divorced, punished and scattered into the nations because of her wickedness of mixing Turah with pagan idol worship - an abomination in the sight of the Father. When Messiah was on earth He told us that His name means, "I am Yah, your deliverer," and no other name would give us salvation. Those who receive and are immersed into His Name, become citizens in the commonwealth of Yisharal. This is the New Yerushalayim and the Bride whom the reapers collect to the presence of Messiah upon His return. Clearly the ingathering of the exiles is a bad context interpretation, because Messiah is the one who chooses His own wife, which He does in love and she responds in obedience to Turah. Really !! I was born in 1948 and I haven't celebrated B/Days for the past 12 years because it is not in Turah for us to celebrate. We all know that celebrating a B/Day is a pagan witchcraft tradition that goes way back to Nimrod. Wouldn't you think that the people who are the keepers of the Turah would realise that giving Israel a B/Day is against what they hold so precious? Obviously the tool they hold is useless if it is not under instruction of the Master Planner. Sometimes the value of a thing is missed because of mythology and traditions surrounding it's purpose. Therefore the goal of it's importance is missed and we find ourselves worshiping the wrong thing ! Does this B/Day wish for Israel show us that once again she is bypassing truth to suit her own purpose? Has power, wealth and the attraction of pagan festivals caused her to intermix traditions with Turah again ? This type of worshiping is what got her divorced from Covenant and scattered into the nations originally and now Israel is openly declaring her witchcraft again before the nations. I know if I celebrated my B/Day before Yahuah it would be an abomination before Him and I do not wish to bring such disgrace to His truth. ACTS 3:19-21 "Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master, and that He sends Yahusha Mashiak, preappointed for you, whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all things, of which Alahim spoke through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old". Looking at this Scripture in CORRECT CONTEXT we see that freshly Ruach-Filled Peter and John had just been used to heal a lame man at the temple-gate and a great hullabaloo followed. These men had spent over three years with Yahusha Himself, watching and studying very closely, every smile, mannerism and BEHAVIOUR of the Master - then came the Death, Resurrection, fear and waiting - and then infilling of Yahusha Himself into them at Pentecost (Shabuoth). These were normal simple men like you and I - what were they really thinking? They were chosen for some apparent reason by Yahusha, trained for three years and were now unleashed to face the RELIGIOUS CLIMATE all around them. And we’ve read of the many exploits they achieved through Yahusha’s power after His Ascension. I’ve been reading about the Tabernacle of David (booth of Daud) and thinking about how YAHUSHA HAS BEEN RESTORING TRUTH TO HIS BRIDE ever since the Dark Ages and TEACHING HER HOW TO BEHAVE. The world was indeed very dark a few hundred years ago. The Catholic Beast controlled everything including who had access to the written Scriptures and who could understand them. The common folk were ignorant, in bondage and were taught that they had to partake in the seven sacraments if they wanted deliverance. One of the biggest steps in RESTORATION came when Martin Luther ushered in the reformation against the Catholic Church and the common folk were able to learn to read and write and gain access to Yahusha’s Word for themselves. This of course formed many new movements of fresh new BEHAVIOUR but which eventually lost its flame and turned into CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS. While this was happening the Jewish people were holding onto the Covenant given at Sinai but over centuries had added so much alternate instruction and practices that they too had lost all sparks of correct BEHAVIOUR and were merely a RELIGION too, declaring one thing, but BEHAVING another as they manipulate the Worldly Systems for their own gain. This is what happens in all Scriptural-based Religions; They are BORN ON THE WAVE OF A GREAT TRUTH AND RESTORATION but over years and decades the LOVING BEHAVIOUR gets overtaken by the ambitions of those who want to keep their power, position or wealth. There is a halt in the SEEKING, SEARCHING & RIDING THE WAVES OF RESTORATION. Over the last 30 years RESTORATION of YAHUSHA’S TRUE NAME (and appointed times) has spread like wild-fire. People are being immersed in His Name, being set free and delivered from all kinds of unclean practises, pesterings and lifestyles in Yahusha’s Name and the waves of RESTORATION were rolling again. It was revealed that the true followers of Yahusha were called Natsarim AND SO FROM AMONGST THE RELIGIOUS MESSIANICS - THE NATSARIM MOVEMENT WAS BORN. When I first started making videos as a Natsarim man there was hardly anything to be found on Youtube or Google with the Names of Yahuah & Yahusha - NOW IT IS FLOODED - Which is so very exciting. However like all waves of restoration the majority digs their heals in, sets up walls, creates a religion with a mission statement and behavioural lifestyle practices which mimic the surrounding Religions (i.e. power/position/wealth). When a group of people is slagged at, put down and persecuted by other religious folk, there are those that rise up who want to prove to the surrounding Religions that the Natsarim can achieve a similar level of worldly religious success also. For many years I dreamed of carrying the Natsarim movement to the next level, the next generation, putting it on the global map. Fortunately Yahusha has shown a MORE EXCELLENT WAY that He is functioning in - BEHAVIOUR . . . It is all about Behaviour and Yahusha has shown us that the new wave (or revolution) is in HOW WE BEHAVE. Not to look back and abandon all the truth we’ve learnt from all the previous waves of restoration but to keep going with redemption, the cleansing process, the disciplines, training, transformation and realisation of how Yahusha’s Bride is to be clothed if she is to make the Wedding Feast (how she should be living and behaving). Are you willing to keep riding the waves of restoration and partake in this time of refreshing ( THE BEHAVIOUR REVOLUTION ) where Yahusha is showing us that the religious way of witnessing and behaving like a buffoon to the world (who only hate the message anyway) is not intelligent or gracious at all - but ALLOWING YAHUSHA TO CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOUR SO THAT YOU ARE A SHINING EXAMPLE OF HIS DELIVERANCE is going to be a greater witness and example of Messiah’s love in the darkness of these highways and byways that we trade on every day. What is The Tabernacle of David? (Booth of Daud) ACTS 15:16 “After this I shall return and rebuild the Booth of Daud which has fallen down. And I shall rebuild its ruins, and I shall set it up”. The Hebrew word for “tabernacle” means a tent, a booth, a covering, (dwelling place). There are three main references to the tabernacle (or booth) of David: Isaiah 16:5, Amos 9:11, and Acts 15:16. What is the connection? Think back to the first Tabernacle that Yahuah instructed Moses (Mushah) to build. How much LABOR was involved? Even after the structure was built, the maintenance was phenomenal; slaughtering animals, dealing with gallons of blood, keeping the menorah lit, the water lavas clean, the shewbread baked, the incense burning - WHY? So that the presence of Yahuah would dwell among them. It was a total lifestyle of hard LABOR and work for a lot of people to keep Yahuah’s spirit, protection and victory with the nation. Yahuah was teaching His people about worship and the way they were to approach Him and the way they were to BEHAVE and He did it through the symbolism of animal slaughtering and blood covering (because remember He had not died yet and rent the veil). How would the priests have felt not being allowed to go into the `holy of holies (most set-apart place)? All their work and service - day in and day out and only some top-dog in a fancy breastplate with funky stones on it (the high-priest) could go in once a year and just hope and pray he was good enough to come out alive? Would you like this lifestyle of worship servitude? (Many still choose it . . .) The next Tabernacle was very different and you can read about it in 1st Chronicles. David (Daud) was a flawed man but his heart burnt for Yahusha’s love and all he wanted was to please Him. For this reason the Ark of the Covenant was brought back to the Hebrew nation under David’s watch; there was great rejoicing and celebration and Yahuah did something truly amazing. He got David to set up a new Tabernacle (booth) with no walls or veils to hide His presence - yes, His essence, His Spirit, His Ruach was literally shining and beaming from the Ark for all the nation to look upon. What would that have felt like for His people? To be restored to Yahuah’s favour once again and not have to go through the priests to know the Master. The veil had been taken away and each individual had access to relationship with the Creator and His love. That is what has been promised to us Brothers and Sisters. James speaks of this in Acts 15 (quoting the prophet Amos). JUST AS THERE WAS A SHIFT AND A SEASON-CHANGE IN THE WORSHIP OF THE ANCIENT HEBREWS, THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID SPEAKS TODAY OF THE BRIDE AND THE REFRESHING THAT WILL COME FROM THE MASTER IN THESE LAST DAYS. THERE HAS BEEN ANOTHER SHIFT AND REALISATION AMONG THE BRIDE - WORSHIP IS ALL ABOUT OUR BEHAVIOUR . . . . not hard labouring servitude and hand-raising. THE BEHAVIOUR REVOLUTION IS CARRYING THIS TORCH AND PROCLAIMING THAT TRUE WORSHIP TODAY IS IN OUR BEHAVIOUR and Yahusha is rebuilding the Tabernacle of Daud amongst His chosen Bride. No longer is she required to laborious slavery to earn His love - He has died and forgiven her, washed her clean and set her on a pathway of deliverance - a path of redemptive instructions, feasts and three rules to aid in her deliverance. Many want to stay in the `Tabernacle of Mushah’ mindset, slaughtering animals (even if only figuratively) trying to earn their deliverance through harsh labor and RELIGIOUS HABITS. They may even call themselves Natsarim (as the first followers were called), but have they tasted His love? Are they part of the Bride or are they still in religion? ARE THEY RUNNING THE RACE TO OVERCOME AND PUT ON THEIR WEDDING GARMENTS (CORRECT BEHAVIOUR)? Once again Yahusha is crying out for us to COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM. Come out of the whore, the beast, the slavery of religion and come into true Yisharal the Bride, who has been: * washed in the blood of the Lamb (brazen altar) * cleansed through immersion (brazen lava) * betrothed in Marriage Covenant (ten commandments) and is * practising her deliverance to gain her wedding garments (inner sanctum services of Moses Tabernacle) and is now * using the three amazing behavioural rules to be perfected and matured in BEHAVIOUR granting her direct access to the presence of Yahusha Himself (David’s Tabernacle). Today the Tabernacle (Booth) is not made with hands, but our fleshly vessels. Forget what you choose to label yourself; Messianic, Natsarim etc etc - Is your Tabernacle dedicated to Religious Beastly/Worldly Behaviour or is your BEHAVIOUR being trained to that of Yahusha’s who practically lived these three rules below: 1. LET EVERYONE HAVE IT (Yahusha accepted everyone and loved them more than Himself) 2. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY (Yahusha loved unconditionally despite what came at Him, understanding what was controlling everyone) 3. DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES (Yahusha spoke the truth (often loudly and directly) in love.) There’s Two Tabernacles - a religious tabernacle of routines and ceremony and there’s a new non-religious tabernacle of Behavioural Understanding . . . The Rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David has been prophesied and it’s a Behaviour Revolution . David was the first King and High-Priest shadowing what Yahusha Himself would become for us all. Those in the Bride are now Kings and Priests to the nations but we must be trained first (Heb12) and put on Behaviour fitting for our status in Messiah, understanding that Yahusha does everything and we just need to be listening and obedient. The internet is full of propaganda such as this post declares. These statements are continually repulsively negative and a stress to endure. Because of the ignorance of these posters, they don't see the damage they are causing the Jewish Nation. True history reveals much to the observant student, for instance if we wander back a few thousand years to the account of king David we see that David's sin of lust led him to destroying a marriage and having the husband of the woman he was lusting after murdered. David lost the son that he and Bathsheba produced, David was devastated and went into mourning to restore his relationship with the Father in heaven and this took many tears and grieving prayer before the Father responded. We don't care what men say but believe that any person who goes against Turah instruction will experience the judgement and anger from the Father for their behaviour (in spite of what men declare). Some wickedness is visited by sickness as a punishment and some are destroyed for their wilfulness. All idolatry is punished by the Father in His time. King Solomon did the same thing which caused the Nation of Israel to split into 2 nations, with 2 temples totally against Turah, entering into brazen idolatry and breaking the Marriage Covenant. The Father punished them by destroying their cities, divorcing them and scattering them into the nations. Israel came back to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the temple but again their sins of lust took over again. So the Father once again judged and scattered this jewish people. Not only the Jews but many nations have had these same judgements. Today Israel is back in the land doing things again, it is up to every individual to judge for themselves what they see is coming out of Israel and is it according to Turah or traditions we are presented with. You know that many words have been taken, changed and given a different meaning than what they really represented originally. Take the word "DUDE" which means a dandy (someone who obsesses over their appearance), today however the word "DUDE" has a completely different meaning. A similar word used in a completely different way today is "PREACH" which the dictionary defines as: PREACH: verb - deliver a sermon or religious address to an assembled group of people, typically in church. "he preached to a large congregation" synonyms: give a sermon, deliver a sermon, sermonize, spread the gospel, evangelize, address, speak; rare gospelize "he preached to a large congregation" religious teaching, instruction, message; sermons, sermonizing, homilies, evangelism, homiletics; rare pulpitry, kerygma "large crowds came to hear his preaching". . . publicly proclaim or teach (a religious message or belief). "he preached the word of God" synonyms: proclaim, teach, spread, propagate, expound, explain, make known "a church that preaches the good news" - earnestly advocate (a belief or course of action). "my parents have always preached toleration and moderation" synonyms: advocate, recommend, advise, urge, exhort, teach, counsel, champion, inculcate, instil "my parents have always preached toleration" They never had mega-churches like today in the time of Messiah, but we do know they had synagogues which of course had a larger room for gatherings. These synagogues were never ordered by the Father but came from the desires of men (of course Messiah took advantage of every situation). When we parouse the word "preach" and we understand the modern connotations of how to do it, we also see such descriptive and more sensitive words as, "deliver a sermon, speak, instruction, toleration and moderation, recommend, advise, urge, champion, instil. When we imagine the behaviour of these words, is it like the "Brass Band" announcers we see parading themselves and their antics, banners flapping to the loud music of their plight, (which is usually plastered everywhere in gauche colours and letterings) . . . OR is preaching something with a bit more finesse and sensitivity to the fruits of righteousness, the words of love given to us. Is such paraded behaviour around the instruction of Turah drawing attention to the marchers and their riotous behaviour, or is it a display of our commonness and ignorance. What does this bootleg preaching outside the graciousness of our Master really look like to Messiah? Can you see those carpet-baggers stealing from the flock? Brothers don't kid yourselves there is a beautiful and respectful way to spread the Gospel that is not a circus or a menagerie. Think on the words of Galatians 5:22-23 and let the Spirit show you how to behave and present them to others. Don't kid yourselves, the real Bride is being preserved behind the scenes while she practices this behaviour. Don't believe those obnoxious, fish-mongering, uncouth, loud mouthed bullies, telling you to behave like an IGNORANT BRASS BAND and see the difference in His loving kindness instead. CHRISTIANITY IS DEFINITELY NOT THE NATSARIM BELIEF. Do you have any idea of the size of global christianity? "As of 2010, Christianity was by far the world's largest religion, with an estimated 2.2 billion adherents, nearly a third (31 percent) of all 6.9 billion people on Earth," the Pew report says. "Islam was second, with 1.6 billion adherents, or 23 percent of the global population."Apr 2, 2015. As you well know Christianity is OBSESSED WITH MINISTRY, they even have a ministry for how to tie your shoe laces, that's how absurd things have become and if there are billions of Christians then there must be hundreds of millions of ministries. The global mindset has been saturated with cliches from ministries - not all are necessarily bible quotes but are of Scripture and worldliness, formulating "THE MIXTURE." Some of these ministries fail and some are successful, but they are always a stress and drain on the family resources. Many pastors want to pass their ministries onto younger more eager ladder-climbing workers, who don't realise what sort of commitment they are making (like if they fail it is their fault). The Pastor goes on and upward to an Itinerate Ministry doing the circuit, travelling the world preaching about the success of his struggling ministry and the miracles of it's foundation, becoming rich. MANY OF THESE MINISTRIES BECOME OVERLOADED WITH GRIEF AND FINANCIAL PROBLEMS and end up failing, devastated they turn from Christianity and seek another belief system and of course are so happy to find the Messianic Jewish and Natsarim communities. These sad people who have failed in Christian ministry still have their ministry obsession, immediately they reinvent and convert their process to a Messianic ministry, through and into the new communities. These obsessed new Messianics bring their grief stricken ministries amongst the Messianic teachers who came from the same place and are well aware of their plight. This is where the hatred and infighting has started. Ex-christian believers joining the Messianic ranks wanting to set themselves up as a successful ministry to prove to their Christian friends their righteousness. Still bringing with them "THE MIXTURE OF BAD BEHAVIOUR." Messianic believers are becoming overloaded with this "MIXTURE" and finding themselves in their previous "Church" predicaments, all because of "Ministry Obsession." Yahusha gave us His 'WORD' which teaches us how to behave the fruits of righteousness, if we stay within the boundaries of Galatians 5:22-23 the fruits of righteous behaviour, there is no Turah against such behaviour. Now if we won't behave the fruits and want our obsessions instead, it is obvious we are against Turah and are Nimrodding our own demise. OVERLOADING Brothers don't overload yourselves with the burden of the obsessive mixture of ministry, because the best ministry is behaving the fruits of righteousness. Become a competent behavioural expert in the application of furtive ministry that has no (law, Turah) Turah against you. Knowing how to behave the fruits will see you win over the evil continually. It is so very important in these days to understand the depth of the meaning of the word we are going to look at today. HATRED: noun - intense dislike; hate. "racial hatred"Not understanding the depth of what hatred really is, can bring upon the ignorant a violence which can cause their own death.Someone walking around with covetousness & hatred in their being,is like a filthy rag pulled from a disease ridden pit.What ever they touch or wherever they sit, a residue of filth ridden disease is left for those to be infected. Words are like this, & if they are being flung around with hatred they can lodge in the hearts of the undisciplined & unfaithful to create such dastardliness which may even bring death to those participating.synonyms: loathing, hate, detestation, dislike, distaste, abhorrence, abomination, execration, resentment, aversion, hostility, ill will, ill feeling, bad feeling; enmity, animosity, antagonism, antipathy, bitterness, animus, revulsion, disgust, contempt, repugnance, odium, rancour; rare disrelish "full of hatred and bitterness" We should also understand the meanings of these descriptive emotional words that come with "HATRED" for our own safety. Just a reminder that we are planted with the weeds and sent out as sheep among wolves. A hater can be very close to you and smile at you with a sort of love. The astute believer will recognise this "SORT OF LOVE," for what it is. They hear the words and see the behaviour. A hater cannot hold in their hatred - it manifests itself in words that wriggle from the heart and out into the conversation. If you ask a hater what they meant by what they said, they will always make excuses or blame you. One thing for sure is you will never get the truth from them. The hater does all this with a smile on it's face, while they are planning your demise. We are so blessed to be in Yahusha, for he protects us and will bring to naught their wickedness. Just saying, looking at the natural things - Imagine all that middle eastern natural armpit deodorant, with the chick-pea and other goodies diet plus bad breath. Someone or 2 is going to drop a few fart bombs under their skirts. Imagine being stuck in the centre of this mob, where your sence of smell brings you out of the excitement into reality. "There is no wind of deliverance," because it is such an enclosed area. Never the less there is a frantic push to get to a crack in the wall to plant their written and folded prayer request to the "God of the wall." Every now and then someone in the excitement and pushing drops another bomb, which is rustled through the many skirts and tunics and is eventually forced to rise to nostril level. When we are willing to humble ourselves in the sight of our spouse and wash their feet and repent genuinely - there is a restoring of LOVE where we are willing to forgive and forget what we have done to each other for so many years. Yahusha truly is our deliverance and He has given us these rules to bring about the delivering, refining process in His Bride: 1. LET EVERYONE HAVE IT 2. DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY 3. DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES (speak the truth) True deliverance is when you can STAND and ENDURE in the face of numerous adversities and have JOY because you know the process, the training, the flogging, the walk, your suffering, you know what evil is and most of all YOU KNOW YAHUSHA because He is your deliverance and you are running your race to BEHAVE and walk as He does. Jealous people are the most evil cruel people to encounter,they think that to lie to you and keep things from you will help their plight in breaking your personality. Your behaviour of practising the "3 Rules" reveals their wickedness not only to themselves, but to those watching. Imagine watching yourself lose time and time again, this of course breeds hatred and lies. PART 2 - Page 5 of 34 Difficult to Understand and Ambiguous Scriptures The Problems with Bible Translations in General and With This Translation In Particular 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 malakoi and arsenokoitai There is a huge disagreement about what these two words mean! And yet they are translated to mean "Homosexual", a word that wasn't coined until the mid to late 19th century??? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 9Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes (malakoi), or practice homosexuality(arsenokoitai), 10or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. (New Living Translation) (http://www.biblegateway.com/ is a great site to do research in the Bible) The understanding of this passage of scripture as it relates to Paul’s teaching about men having sex with other men (sex between females is virtually ignored in the Bible) depends on the translation of 2 Greek words, “malakoi” and “arsenokoitai”. There has been and remains a great disparity and lack of consensus among Bible translations and commentaries as to what these two terms mean. In this text these words occur in a list of sinners of various kinds. It is hard to determine what these words mean in the way they are used because the words don’t have a context to help suggest a meaning except that it was someone doing something that was considered very wrong. They are just words in a list. (1) “Malakoi” was a fairly common word (a plural adjective used as a noun) and it seems to have at least 3 possible meanings. The first meaning was “soft”, “fine” or “expensive” as used in Luke 7:25 and Matthew 11:8 when talking about a rich man’s clothes. The second was “effeminate” or “woman like”, but not necessarily in the “limp wrist (gay)” implication we give to those words today but with the idea of someone being “undisciplined”, “self-indulgent”, “decadent”, “lazy”, “easily influenced”, “without courage or stability” or “gentle in nature-like a woman”. The third being a young male prostitute or call-boy, a youth who consciously imitated feminine styles and ways and took on the passive role of a woman during sex for money. It appears that the third would be the most likely meaning as Robin Scroggs in The New Testament and Homosexuality points out on page 106, especially likely when found together with the word “arsenokoitai” and because it was found within a list of the worst possible sins. The practice of boy prostitution would have been known to Paul and it was universally detested in the Jewish community. Now “arsenokoitai” is a word even more difficult to explain because this use in the Bible is the first recorded use of the word combined with the fact that it is found so rarely in other literature of the time and only in lists of vices. It only occurs in the Bible in this verse and in 1Timothy 1:10. The word is a compound of two parts, the first part meaning “male”, the second part “bed” or “beds”. But trying to put them together to come up with a meaning as many experts do is not necessarily reliable because language is not always logical. For example the word “lady-killer” in English means neither a lady who kills nor a person who kills ladies but a man who knows how to charm women. (2) But to make a long and tedious analysis short the evidence does seem to show that “arsenokoitai” refers to male same-sex behavior that is exploitative, lewd and wanton, where one man forces himself sexually on another or takes advantage of and uses the services of boy prostitutes, always in the active role as the penetrator (never the passive). OK, but what do these 2 words have to do with two people of the same sex living in a committed, monogamous, loving relationship with the blessing of God? A Woman Was Treated Little Better Than A Slave I strongly believe that the meaning of words depends on the context in which they are used. So in order to truly understand how the lessons of the Bible can be applied to our lives in today’s world we must try to understand the world in which the Bible was written. Now in this case, both of these words are closely tied to a 1st century cultural context vastly different from our own. As an example of this huge cultural difference, in the strict patriarchies of Biblical times, men and women played far different roles than they do today, at least in what we call "Western nations". Women were rarely educated in ancient times (an intellectual conversation with a woman was not considered possible) and they were literally owned by, yes they were the property of their husbands (or their fathers before their marriage) and they had no real legal or political status. The wife was responsible for the household and usually stayed indoors with the slaves following her husband’s instructions. The husband was the public face of the family and it seems spent little time at home during the day or in conversations with his wife. Therefore if another man had sex with his wife, yes it was adultery, but in the sense that it was a form of stealing, an infringement of the husband's property rights. And this is only one example of these cultural context differences. The examples could go on and on seemingly forever. Malakoi and Arsenokoitai Have Been Translated To Mean Many Different Things Over The Centuries So recognizing these cultural context differences between modern and ancient times has added much to our understanding of how the teachings in the Bible should be understood and put to use in our lives. In this case all these differences have been taken into consideration plus the best investigative researchers from various scientific fields have been brought in to try and arrive at a definitive answer, but it all hasn’t seemed to help much and the wide disagreement continues on as to what these two words mean. The truth is that the precise meanings may never be known. The result is that scholars have been reduced to making educated guesses. John J. McNeill wrote in The Church and the Homosexual, "The variation in translations points to the fact that there is very little understanding of the precise meaning of Paul's [two] terms . . . Translations appear at times to be based on preconceptions rather than serious scholarship." Another example of how strange translations can be: There are some people from Martin Luther’s time and even some now that believed then and believe now that “arsenokoitai” and/or “malakoi” refer to masturbators. Hum. In that case would that mean that most teenage boys are going straight to hell? Ha-ha. We believe that this is the essential information that God wanted us here on earth to know in order for us to lead the best possible lives in this life and give us the best possible chance to spend eternity with Him in the next. For example, we know exactly the meaning of “You shall not murder" or "You shall not steal". There is no doubt what God wants us to know in these 2 important commandments. So, if these two words, “malakoi” and “arsenokoitai” are so critical for us to understand in order to achieve the previously mentioned goals or rewards, wouldn’t God with all His limitless powers, wisdom and foreknowledge have made it possible for their meaning to be clear to either the lay reader or the scholar today? 2) The Fundamentalists believe that all scripture is "God Breathed" in other words according to Grace Community Church's John MacArthur, "the Scriptures are breathed out by God, not breathed in. So they say that the Bible is the product of God breathing out His words so what He wanted written got written. In other words, the Scriptures are the product of divine breath assuring us that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the very words of God." So maybe all this lack of clarity on God's part in the case of malakoi” and “arsenokoitai” is a test for His People. Could He be testing us to see that when there is any clear doubt about what is written, that we turn to loving instead of judging? I strongly disagree with the "God Breathed" point of view because it says that the entire bible is inerrant or without error and that is just wrong. My faith is in no way shaken because there are human-induced errors in the Holy Bible. A first-century text would now seem to teach exactly what Roman Catholicism began teaching only in the mid-1970's: to be homosexual is not fault, but to engage in homogenital acts is wrong. The attempt to nuance the translation is certainly understandable and welcome. Still, this translation reads a whole new worldview into the original Greek text, for there was no elaborated awareness of sexual orientation in first-century Christianity. Even worse, "practicing homosexuals" - like "homosexuals" and " homosexual perverts" in those other translations - includes women as well as men. But as we shall see [as pointed out above], arsenokoitai certainly refers only to men. At the instigation of Dignity/USA, a support group for lesbian and gay Catholics and their friends, the editors of the New American Bible agreed to delete the term practicing homosexuals. Dankenbring In the book of Genesis we read the blunt, categorical statement: "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God [angels] saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. . . .There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men [had sexual relations with them], that they bare CHILDREN to them, the same became MIGHTY MEN which were of old, men of renown" (Gen.6:1-4). Who were these "giants" and men of "renown"? What does the Bible tell us about them? This is a fascinating story -- one that needs to be told! What happens when a spirit being appears as flesh, and unites with a mortal woman, and their two seeds join -- the sperm of the male and the egg of the female? This was a union which God had forbidden -- for good reason. The offspring which resulted, were not only proud, insolent, arrogant, and self-centered -- they were also extremely cunning in some cases -- and they were sometimes GIGANTIC in stature! They disrupted the entire ecology and balance of life of the world before the Flood. Admits the Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary "Who, or what, then, were the Nephilim? In the only other passage where the word occurs (Num.13:32-33), it clearly means giants, being derived . . . from the mutually related roots of three verbs, yielding the fundamental idea of HUGE, EXTRAORDINARY SIZE. Nor can it be deemed incredible that in the antediluvian age, when, from the remains of quadrupeds and other inferior animals, we see that they were of an immensely larger type than the existing race of them exhibits . . . . "Archaeology, too, show, from the traditionary fables of the classical poets, as well as from the colossal monuments that are extant, that there were people in remote times of CYCLOPEAN STRENGTH; and whether this . . . was the characteristic percularity of a certain class only, various circumstances contribute to warrant the conclusion, that in the world before the Flood there were Titans distinguished by corporeal stature and energies far above the present scale. But although the idea of GIGANTIC POWER does underlie the language of the sacred historian, the term Nephilim seems to bear a deeper significance; and if etymology may guide us, it describes a class of men of worthless and at the same time of violent character. . . intimating that the Nephilim were marauding nomads -- men of a violent, overbearing, lawless character -- who abused their bodily powers to obtain their selfish ends; who were constantly roving from place to place in quest of plunder, and, emerging suddenly from their retreat, made attacks both on the property and the lives of men" (Critical Experimental Commentary, vol.1, p. 89). Giants AFTER the Flood, Too! Men of gigantic stature are also mentioned as existing after the Flood of Noah's time. When the children of Israel sent spies into the land of Canaan, preparatory to invading the land, they were appalled to find giants dwelling in the land. They gave to Moses and the people a frightening, dismaying report: "Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. . . . We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. And there we saw the GIANTS, the sons of Anak, which come of the GIANTS: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so were we in their sight" (Numbers 13:28-33). The word for "giants" here is the same word used in Genesis 6:4 -- the Nephilim. Obviously, therefore, some of them lived after the Flood. A Second Irruption of Giants Where did these giants come from? Since all the Pre-Flood giants were destroyed by each other, or before the Flood, these must have been born to disobedient angels who sinned by cohabiting with women soon after the Deluge. Says the Companion Bible: "But we read of the Nephilim again in Num.13:33: 'there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, which come of the Nephilim.' How, it may be asked, could this be, if they were all destroyed in the Flood? The answer is contained in Gen.6:4, where we read: 'There were Nephilim in the earth in those days (i.e., in the days of Noah); and also AFTER THAT, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children unto them, the same became the mighty men (Heb. gibbor, the heroes) which were of old, men of renown' (lit. men of the name, i.e. who got a name and were renowned for their ungodliness). "So that 'after that,' i.e. after the Flood, there was a second irruption of these fallen angels, evidently smaller in number and more limited in area, for they were for the most part confined in Canaan, and were in fact known as the 'nations of Canaan.' It was for the destruction of these, that the sword of Israel was necessary, as the Flood had been before. "As to the date of this second irruption, it was evidently soon after it became known that the seed was to come through Abraham; for, when he came out from Haran (Gen. 12:6) and entered Canaan, the significant fact is stated: 'The Canaanite was then (i.e. already) in the land.' And in Gen.14:5 they were already known as 'Rephaim' and 'Emim,' and had established themselves at Ashteroth Karnaim and Shaveh Kiria- thaim" (Appendix 25). Satan knew that the promised Messiah would come through the descendants of Abraham. Satan adopted a pre-emptive strategy and bred more "giants" to occupy the Promised Land to prevent the Israelites from being able to occupy it. His plan aborted, however, when the Israelites under Moses and later Joshua conquered the inhabitants of the land, and destroyed the remaining Anakim. Another Race of Giants -- the Rephaim In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses writes of the land of Moab, "The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims" (Deut.2:10-11). The word for "giant" here is Raphah, which means "giant." Interestingly, the same word also means "ghost, dead, deceased." The Rephaim were another of the lines of giants which existed after the Flood. Moses tells us of the land of Moab, "That also was accounted a land of giants; GIANTS dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead" (v.20-21). Og, the king of Bashan, conquered by Moses and the Israelites on their entrance into the Promised Land, was one of the giants. "For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits [approximately 14 feet!] was the length thereof, and four cubits [6 feet] the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man [i.e., a normal man -- the normal cubit measured 18 inches]" (Deut.3:11). Bashan, the land of Og, was called "the land of giants"(v.13; see also Josh.12:4, 13:12). The valley of Hinnom, the refuse dump for Jerusalem, a type of the final Gehenna fire, lay eastward of the "valley of the giants" (Josh.15:8; 18:16). Joshua 17:15 mentions the "Rephaim," another branch of the "giants." These dwelt in the region near Sodom and Gomorrah in the time of Abraham (Gen.14:5; 15:20; see also II Sam.5:18,22; 23:13). In an ancient text of the Jews, we read an astonishing description of some of these gigantic Amorites whom the Israelites conquered. In Buber's Tanhuma, Devarim 7, the text tells us of a Rabbi Johnanan ben Zakkai's encounter with the Roman Emperor Hadrian. This event occurred in about A.D. 135, soon after the Roman victory in the Bar Kochba war, when the Jews rebelled against the Romans. The text reads: "The wicked emperor Hadrian, who conquered Jerusalem, boasted, 'I have conquered Jerusalem with great power.' Rabbi Johanan ben Zakkai said to him, 'Do not boast. Had it not been the will of Heaven, you would not have conquered it.' Rabbi Johanan then took Hadrian into a cave and showed him the bodies of Amorites who were buried there. One of them measured eighteen cubits [approximately 30 feet] in height. He said, 'When we were deserving, such men were defeated by us, but now, because of our sins, you have defeated us'" (quoted in Judaism, edited by Arthur Hertzberg, p.155-156, George Braziller, New York: 1962). Thirty feet tall! The bones of these men were still in existence during the time of Josephus, the Jewish historian of the first century! The Origin of "Demons" Where do "evil spirits" or "demons" come from? Some think they are merely fallen angels, now deprived of their angelic bodies. Others claim they don't exist. But the apostle Peter tells us that the angels that sinned are now "cast down to hell [Greek, tartaroo, meaning a deep abyss]," where they are "delivered into chains of darkness, reserved unto judgment" (II Pet.2:4). If the angels which sinned are presently bound in chains, then what are demonic spirits which roam the earth? Evil spirits are not the same thing as "fallen angels," as many have long believed. Rather, since fallen angels are now BOUND IN CHAINS of darkness until the day of their judgment, we must look for another explanation consistent with the Scriptures to explain the existence of demon spirits which have no corporeal body. Where, then, do "evil spirits" come from -- those spirits called "demons" in the Scriptures? Says the book of Enoch, in explanation of the origin of these evil "spirits" -- "But now the giants who are born from the (union of) the spirits and the flesh shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, because their dwelling shall be upon the earth and inside the earth. Evil spirits have come out of their bodies. Because from the day that they were created from the holy ones they became the Watchers: their first origin is the spiritual foundation. They will become evil upon the earth and shall be called EVIL SPIRITS. The dwelling of the spiritual beings of heaven is heaven; but the dwelling of the spirits of the earth, which are born upon the earth, is in the earth" (Enoch 15:8-10). Jesus spoke of these evil spirits -- He cast out many demons from people, throughout His ministry, and gave this same authority to His servants. Early in His ministry, He encountered an extremely violent and super-strong demoniac who dwelt among the tombs near the sea of Galilee. "When he reached the opposite side, the country of the Gadarenes, he was met by two demoniacs who ran out of the tombs; they were so violent that nobody could pass along the road there. They shrieked, 'Son of God, what business have you with us? Have you come here to torture us before it is time? Now, some distance away, there was a large drove of swine grazing; so the demons begged him saying, 'If you are going to cast us out, send us into that drove of swine.' He said to them, 'Begone!' So out they came and went to the swine, and the entire drove rushed down the steep slope into the sea and perished in the water" (Matt.8:28-32, Moffatt translation). As God's servants, with the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within us (Rom.8:9-10; 5:32), we do not have to fear or be afraid of these demonic spirits. Jesus gave His disciples power and authority to CAST OUT demons, just as He did, setting an example! "And summoning his twelve disciples he gave them power over unclean spirits, power to cast them out and also to heal every sickness and disease" (Matt.10:1, Moffatt). This commission and charge was not just for the original disciples and apostles. It was an on-going commission and commandment for the Church of God throughout the ages! Notice! In His final instructions to the disciples, Jesus declared: "And he said to them, 'Go to all the world and preach the gospel to every creature: he who believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he who will not believe shall be condemned. And as for those who believe, these miracles will follow: they will cast out demons in my name . . ." (Mark 16:15-17, Moffatt). The existence of these evil spirits, derived from the fallen angels, and their relations with women, is a fact which modern psychiatry cannot explain. Modern psychiatrists cannot fathom the real explanation of "split personalities," "multiple personalities," all inhabiting the same person, or the ability of such people to speak in total foreign languages which they have never heard or learned, or how they can have knowledge of previous "lives," or existences. But demonic possession and influence perfectly explains all of these puzzling, mysterious phenomena! These are the wicked "spirits" of the deceased "giants" who once roamed the earth! On the other hand, it is also possible for fallen angels to deceive, delude, and take over the bodies of human beings -- that is, those fallen angels which have not already been bound in chains. Apparently multiple millions of angels followed Lucifer in his original rebellion (Rev.12:3). Many of them still occupy high spiritual offices on this earth, under their "god" Satan (Eph.6:10-18; Eph.2:2; II Cor.4:4). The Truth Revealed This truth that angels did cohabit with women before the Flood and sired "giants" -- and "men of renown" -- may seen incredible -- almost unbelievable. But the plain record of Scriptures, together with apocalyptic sources, the history and traditions of the Jews, Josephus the Jewish historian of the first century, and even the very existence of Greek legends of "gods" marrying women, all together combine to bear witness to the unassailable fact that it really did happen! Why has Satan the devil hidden this truth from the world? Why do all the professing Christian churches, including the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant Churches, deny it? Satan's plot, of course, is to deceive all mankind (Rev.12:9). He doesn't want mankind to know how he has attempted to "tamper" with the genealogical blood-line of the human race. He doesn't want mankind to know that he and his fallen angels have attempted to THWART the plan of God, to prevent the birth of the Messiah. Also, in his own diabolical, devious way, he seeks to do that which God is doing through the human race: He and his angels planned to reproduce themselves by the only means available to them -- through sexual relations with human beings -- thus producing their own "children," and "family" and "offspring"! Think of it! Satan the devil, in his devious wickedness, seeks to be like God in every way. He has never lost his desire to be "like the Most High" (Isa.14:12-14). God created the human race, in His own image and likeness, and is planning to reproduce spiritual sons of God, as many Scriptures attest (see Gen.1:26; I John 3:1-2; Heb.2:6-9; Rom.8:14-21). Even so, Satan has planned to imitate, counterfeit, and duplicate the plan of God -- to wrest, pervert, and alter the creation of men, by cohabiting with women to produce his own wicked offspring! Could modern-day accounts of "Alien abductions" be an "end-time" revival of Satan's age-old attempt to duplicate and counterfeit God's plan? Could Satan be attempting to have "offspring," today, in a final all-out attempt to thwart and stop God's Plan? The Original Snake in the Woodpile In the garden of Eden, after Adam and Eve had been together for seven years, according to the book of Jubilees, Satan began his dastardly plot. At a time when the "seven year itch" was beginning to set in, and Adam and Eve were becoming complacent, Satan -- in the guise of a seductive serpent -- met Eve in a secret rendezvous, or tryst, and began the old "line." He led her to look away from her husband as her guide, away from the Word of God, and began to toy with her emotions, to make promises to her -- and he seduced her, causing her to commit sin. Interestingly, in Genesis 2:25 we read that the man and his wife were "both naked," and that they "were not ashamed." The word for "naked" here is arom which is literally translated "nude," or "naked." But the same word is used in Genesis 3:1, where we read, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field." The word for "subtle" here is also arum. meaning "cunning, crafty, prudent." They are the same word. The literal root meaning is actually "smooth" or "slick," as in smooth or slick skin -- i.e., "naked." A "subtle" person is considered "smooth," or "slick," as in "Slick Willy," a nickname for a famous person today. There is obviously a "play on words," here, in the Hebrew language. Eve later admits that "the serpent beguiled me" (Gen.3:13). The Hebrew word is nasha meaning "to lead astray, to delude, to seduce." Says the Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon, "to lead into error, to cause to go astray, to seduce, to corrupt." Paul in the New Testament says of this strange encounter, "the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty" (II Cor.11:3). The word for "beguiled" here is exapatao which means, "to seduce wholly." According to the Jewish Talmud, the devil copulated with Eve. The "forbidden fruit" which she partook of was not only a real, literal fruit from a forbidden tree, it was a symbol for something else -- an act of illicit sexual congress with the man-serpent, the fallen cherub, Lucifer the Adversary. There is much more to this story of Eve in the garden of Eden than most have ever supposed. Satan, appearing as a seductive, beautiful creature of light, captured her confidence, won her affection, and mesmerized her with his smooth line of loving attention. Perhaps she had felt a little lonely or neglected by Adam, who was out taming the jungle. In this moment of weakness, she was tempted -- seduced -- and succumbed to the charms of the master deceiver and charmer. Lucifer and his fallen angels did themselves one better. Not only did they rebel against God aeons ago, in the primordial mists of time, but they inaugurated a plan to cause the human race to deviate from its intended godly purpose. Satan was the first "snake in the woodpile," as the old saying goes. He was not only the first liar, and murderer (John 8:44), he was also the first adulterer, fornicator, and sexual deviate in existence! "The Sons of God" Some insist that these "sons of God" in Genesis who married the "daughters of men" are nothing more than the line of Seth, the third son of Adam, and that the daughters of men refers to the women born to the line of Cain. This is the view of the Catholic Church, Augustine, Martin Luther, and other conventional theologians of mainstream Christianity. This makes no sense whatsoever. Only by a divine act of specific creation can any creature be called a "son of God." That which is born of flesh is flesh. As human beings, we all have fleshly parents. Adam only was the exception, being made by the hand of God -- therefore he was a son of God (Luke 3:38), by creation. Those of us who are also "in Christ," and have received His implanted Holy Spirit, are also "sons of God" in the spiritual sense (II Cor.5:17; Eph.2:10). We, too, can be called "sons of God" (Rom.8:14-15; I John 3:1). In the Old Testament, however, the term "sons of God" refers to angels (see Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7; Psa.29:1; 89:6; Dan.3:25). Therefore, we have no authority to take the expression in Genesis 6:2 and to apply it in any other way. Furthermore, the Septuagint version of the Old Testament Scriptures, plainly translates the term in Genesis 6:3 as "angels of God" (footnote, page 7, Alexandrian text). Those who attempt to explain this verse as the sons of Seth marrying the daughters of Cain simply are unable to believe that angels could cohabit with humankind. However, as we will see later, there is no reason Scripturally why this couldn't have happened! What Really Happened Jude says these wicked angels left their own "habitation" (Jude 6). The word is oiketerion in Greek, and is also used in II Corinthians 5:2 -- "For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven." Says Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of this word, it means, "habitation, house." Thus these angels left their own spirit body, and took on human form! That is how they accomplished this despicable, rebellious act of lust and wanton disregard for the laws of God. The result? Tragedy beyond measure. Wickedness supreme. Murder, lawlessness, and mayhem unparalleled in the history of the entire Universe! The progeny of these rebellious angels were called "giants" -- Nephilim in the Hebrew. These were monsters of iniquity, and being superhuman in size and character had to be destroyed once and for all. This grievous intermarriage was an insidious attempt by Satan the devil to prevent the coming of the promised "Seed" of the woman to redeem the human race. He thought that he would pervert and corrupt the blood-line of human beings, so that the Messiah could not be born! It was also an abortive attempt to "play God" on the part of Satan and his fallen angels -- to duplicate and copy God 's plan of procreation! Interestingly, these "half-breeds" of angels and women -- these offspring of the union of wicked angels and women -- since they are not truly "human" in the full sense of the word, have no place in the plan of God, and will not be in the resurrection. They will not be resurrected from the grave in the time to come of the great Judgment. The very name, Rephaim, in the Hebrew comes from the root rapha which means not only "giant," but also "lax," that is, "ghost," "as dead," "dead, deceased." Says Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon, "flaccid, feeble, weak, only in plural." This authority states, "According to the opinions of the ancient Hebrews, void of blood and animal life, therefore weak and languid like a sick person." Isaiah 26:14 speaks of them, but their name is translated "deceased." Notice! "They are dead, they are deceased [Rephaim], they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish." Isn't it interesting to note that many of the so-called "aliens" which have been "seen" by various people, when described, all appear rather weak, flaccid, limp, and feeble in appearance, lacking energy and vitality? "Perfect in His Generations" Only Noah and his family of his generation had preserved their pedigree pure from Adam. "These are the generations [plural, denoting genealogies and family history] of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God" (Gen.6:9). The rest of mankind had become corrupted through intermarriage with angels, tainted with the biological effects of such contamination, and their hereditary traits were corrupted -- genes and chromosomes were "tainted." Noah, however, was "perfect" in his genealogy or pedigree. The Hebrew word for "perfect" here is tamim and means "without blemish." It is the word for bodily and physical perfection. It is rendered "without blemish" (Exo.12:5, etc.), "without spot" (Num.19:2, etc.), and "undefiled" (Psalm 119:1). The word Nephilim itself means, literally, "fallen ones" (from naphal, "to fall"). These beings were evidently great in size and great in wickedness. They were superhuman, abnormal beings, and their destruction was necessary for the preservation of the human race. The children of the perverted sexual relationships between fallen angels and women "became [the] mighty men [Hebrew, gibbor, meaning "tyrants, the "heroes"], which were of old, men of renown" (Gen.6:4). The word for "renown" literally means "men of the name," that is, men who got a reputation and were renown for their strength, prowess, ungodliness, and evil deeds. The "Giants" of Mythology and Early History These mighty "giants" of old were the source and origin of the Greek legends of gods coming down from heaven and marrying women, having incestuous and adulterous relationships, "Cyclops," and other "Titans" and giants. They may also explain the difficulties engineers have had in explaining the construction of the great pyramid and the movement of the massive blocks of stone weighing hundreds of tons! Says the Companion Bible: "If these Nephilim . . . were associated with Egypt, we have an explanation of the problem which has for ages perplexed all engineers, as to how those huge stones and monuments were brought together. . . . "Moreover, we have in these mighty men, the 'men of renown,' the explanation of the origin of the Greek mythology. That mythology was no mere invention of the human brain, but it grew out of the traditions, and memories, and legends of the doings of that mighty race of beings; and was gradually evolved out of the 'heroes' of Gen.6:4. The fact that they were supernatural in their origin formed an easy step to their being regarded as the demi-gods of the Greeks" (appendix 25). The Companion Bible adds: "Thus the Babylonian 'Creation Tablets,' the Egyptian 'Book of the Dead,' the Greek mythology, and heathen Cosmogonies, which by some are set on an equality with Scripture, or by others adduced in support of it, are all the corruption and perversion of primitive truths, distorted in proportion as their origin was forgotten, and their memories faded away" (Companion Bible, appendix 25). The Encyclopedia Britannica, eleventh edition, provides more insight into the giants of old. Although the editors of the Britannica did not endorse the idea of real "giants" as having lived in the past, they put together a very interesting description of a theme which runs throughout ancient times -- that of real living giants. Notice: "When reading in Homer of 'the Cyclopes and the wild tribes of the Giants,' or of Odysseus in the cave of Polyphemus (Homer, Odyss. vii, 206; ix), we seem to come into view of dim traditions, exaggerated [sic] through the mist of ages, of Pre-Hellenic barbarians, godless, cannibal, skin-clothed, hurling huge stones in their rude warfare. Giant-legends of this class are common in Europe and Asia, where the big and stupid giants would seem to have been barbaric tribes exaggerated [sic] into monsters in the legends of those who dispossessed and slew them. In early times it was usual for cities to have their legends of giants. Thus London had Gog and Magog, whose effigies (14 ft. high) still stand in the Guildhall; Antwerp had her Antigonus, 40 ft. high; Douai had Gayant, 22 ft. high, and so on" (v.11, p.926). The Roman historian Pliny relates that an Arabian, Gabbarus, was about 9 and one half feet tall, and he also mentions a Posio and Secundila who were half a foot taller. Why should this seem so strange or unbelievable to moderns? The Scriptures tell us that David slew Goliath (whose name means "an exile"), a famous giant of the city of Gath, who was probably descended from the ancient Rephaim, of whom a remnant took refuge among the Philistines (Deut.2:20-21; II Sam.21:22). Goliath's height was "six cubits and a span," making him 9 feet and 9 inches tall! Possible footprints of ancient gigantic men have been found in places like the Paluxy riverbed in eastern Texas. A tooth weighing 4 and three quarters pounds, and a thigh bone 17 feet long were found in New England in 1712, and were at that time thought to be evidence of the existence of ancient men of prodigious size in the antediluvian world. Giants in the streets of Basel, supporting the arms of Lucerne, seem to have originated from fossil bones found in 1577. Examined by the physician Felix Plater, they were pronounced as having belonged to a giant some 16 or 19 feet high. According to ancient English history, the giant effigies (dating from 1708 and replacing those destroyed in the Great Fire of London) of Gog and Magog in Guildhall were the survivors of a race of giants. Says the Recuyell des histoires de Troye, Brute [Brutus] and his companions, when they fled ancient Troy, sailed through the Mediterranean, and up the coast of Europe, eventually invading England. "Gog and Magog" were among a race of giants they encountered. After the giants were defeated, these two were brought to London (Troy-novant or "New Troy") and compelled to officiate as porters at the gate of the royal palace. According to Geoffrey of Monmouth, Goemot or Goemagzot (either corrupted from or into "Gog and Magog") was a giant, who, along with his brother Corineus, tyrannized in the western horn of England until slain by foreign invaders ("Gog," Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, vol.12. p.190). The Jewish historian Josephus, writing of the time of the Exodus and conquest of Canaan, tells us further: "There were till then left the RACE OF GIANTS, who had bodies so large, and countenances so entirely different from other men, that they were surprising to the sight, and terrible to the hearing. The bones of these men are still shown to this very day, unlike to any credible relations of other men" (Ant., V,ii,3). Josephus relates that remnants of the race of giants still lived in David's day, about 1000 years before Christ. After one particular battle when king David made war against the Philistines, putting them to flight, he was tired and left alone, and one of the enemy saw him, "whose name was Achmon, the son of Araph; he was one of the sons of the giants. He had a spear, the handle of which weighed three hundred shekels, and a breastplate of chain-work, and a sword. He turned back, and ran violently to slay [David] their enemy's king, for he was quite tired out with labour; but Abishai, Joab's brother, appeared on the sudden, and protected the king with his shield, as he lay down, and slew the enemy" (Ant., VII, xii,1). The handle or staff of this giant's spear weighed about 75 pounds! Why Do Skeptics Scoff? Is it really so unbelievable that angels would marry and have sexual intercourse with women before the Flood? Where do all the ancient legends of the Greeks, Romans, and others come from which relate that heavenly beings sired offspring by mating with women? Ancient Sumerian records tell of gods descending from the stars and fertilizing their ancestors. Such interbreeding is supposed to have produced the first men on the earth. The native inhabitants of Malekula, in the New Hebrides, believe that the first men were direct descendants of the sons of heaven. The Incas believed that they were the descendants of the "sons of the Sun." The Japanese believe that their Emperor is descended from the sun god. South sea islanders trace their ancestry back to a god from heaven who they claim visited them in an enormous "egg." The Koreans believe that a heavenly king, Hwanin, sent his son, Hwanung, to earth, who married a woman of the earth and gave birth to a son, Tangun Wanggom. In India ancient Sanskrit texts tell of "gods" begetting children with women of earth, and how these children inherited the "supernatural" skills and learning of their "fathers." In the Epic of Gilgamesh, from the Middle East, we learn that "watchers" -- the same expression as used in the book of Enoch -- came to planet earth and produced giants as offspring! An early Persian myth tells of the earth becoming corrupted by demons who allied themselves with women. The Jewish rabbis and sages invariably interpreted the "sons of God" expression in Genesis 6:1-4 as referring to angels. Says archaeologist William F. Albright, dean of Biblical archaeology, "The Israelites who heard this section (Gen.6:2) recited unquestionably thought of intercourse between angels and women" (Albright, From the Stone Age to Christianity, p.226). The Jewish philosopher Philo of Alexandria, who was an acquaintance of the apostle Peter and who respected Peter highly, wrote a treatise on this subject, entitled Concerning the Giants. He renders the expression "sons of God" as "angels of God." Philo took the passage in Genesis as historical fact and did not question or doubt it. He explains that the word "angel" refers to both good and bad beings. The bad angels, who followed Lucifer, at a later point in time failed to resist the temptation of physical desire, and gave in to their lusts. Philo says the story of the giants is not a myth, but is in the Scriptures to teach us that some men are earth-born, and some are heaven-born, but the highest are God-born, or born of God (i.e., have the Spirit of God within them!). According to Philo: "But he [Moses] relates that these GIANTS were sprung from a combined procreation of two natures, namely, from angels and mortal women; for the substance of angels is spiritual; but it occurs every now and then that on emergencies occurring they have imitated the appearance of men, and transformed themselves so as to assume the human shape; as they did on this occasion, when forming connections with women for the production of giants. . . ." (The Works of Philo, page 811). The earliest church fathers also believed in the literal truth of the fact that angels cohabited with women before the Flood. Among those who believed in the truth of this historical fact, and Biblical reference, were such early church leaders as Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Athenagorus, Tertullian, Lactantius, Eusebius the church historian during the time of Constantine, and Ambrose. According to the Clementine Homilies, in The Ante-Nicean Fathers, we read: "But when, having assumed these forms, they convicted as covetous those who stole them, and changed themselves into the nature of men, in order that, living holily, and showing the possibility of so living, they might subject the ungrateful to punishment, yet having become in all respects men, they also partook of human lust, and being brought under its subjection they fell into cohabitation with women; and being involved with them, and sunk in defilement and altogether emptied of their first power, were unable to turn back to the first purity of their proper nature . . . But from their unhallowed intercourse spurious men sprang, much greater in stature than ordinary men, whom they afterwards called giants; not those dragon-footed giants who waged war against God, as those blasphemous myths of the Greeks do sing, but wild in manners, and greater than men in size, inasmuch as they were sprung from angels; yet less than angels, as they were born of women" (vol.8, page 273). In fact, this opinion was universal in the ancient world. Nowhere before the 5th century A.D. do we find any other interpretation for "sons of God" in Genesis 6:2 other than that of "angels." Nowhere. If the writer of Genesis had wanted to refer to the sons of Seth, instead of calling them "sons of God" (which would have been a great misnomer), he would simply have called them "the sons of Seth"! What Does It All Mean? Is there a lesson in these fascinating facts for us, today? Satan the devil has always been out to destroy the plan of God, and to eradicate the human race. His attempts have fallen short of the mark. However, the Bible warns us that once again, in these "last days," he is going to make one final all-out attempt to destroy the work of God! In ancient times, fallen angels were experimenting with human women -- attempting "breeding experiments" with them. Is it possible that even today, in the guise of "humanoids," or "extraterrestrials" who claim to come from other planets, that Satan and his demons and fallen angels are once again trying to revive their age-old experiments? Is Satan and his legion of spirit beings striving to solve the riddle of human procreation, in order to out-wit God who has made them incapable of reproduction among themselves? Is it possible that some of the strange accounts of bizarre "flying saucer" abductions, and stories told by "survivors" of such encounters, is really an end-time manifestation of this ancient phenomenon? Animals, Too! Clearly, the Biblical record demonstrates that wicked, fallen angels cohabited with women before the Flood -- which was a major cause why God had to destroy that wicked world! But not only women, there is evidence that angels also had sexual relations with animals -- cattle and quadrupeds -- further perverting and contaminating the heredity and seed of "all flesh." The sin was so rampant that God declared, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them" (Gen.6:7). Why was God upset even with the creation of the animal world? Because it, too, had become contaminated! We read, "And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, IT was CORRUPT; for ALL FLESH had corrupted his way upon the earth" (Gen.6:12). We read: "And God said unto Noah, the end of ALL FLESH is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them [the fallen angels, having instructed mankind in the ways of violence, and producing violent offspring!]; and, behold, I will destroy THEM with the earth" (v.13). Because of the great lawlessness rampant in the earth, God decided to destroy ALL flesh -- not just human beings! This indicates that all flesh had become contaminated to some degree. The book of Enoch fills us in on a few of the details. We read: "The angels of your heavens are now committing sin (upon the earth), and your wrath shall rest upon the flesh of the people until (the arrival of) the great day of judgment" (Enoch 84:4). "Again I saw (a vision) with my own eyes as I was sleeping, and saw the lofty heaven; and as I looked, a star fell down from heaven [Lucifer, or Satan -- compare Luke 10:18] but (managed) to rise and eat and to be pastured among those cows. Then I saw these big and dark cows, and behold they all changed their cattle-sheds, their pastures, and their calves; and they began to lament with each other. Once again I saw a vision, and I observed the sky and behold, I saw many stars descending and casting themselves down from the sky upon that first star; and they became bovids [cattle, or quadrupeds] among those calves and were pastured together with them, in their midst. I kept observing, and behold, I saw all of them extending their sexual organs like horses and commencing to mount upon the heifers, the bovids; and they (the latter) all became pregnant and bore elephants, camels, and donkeys. So (the cattle) became fearful and frightened of them . . ." (Enoch 86:1-5). Here was sexual perversion and corruption on a massive scale -- experimentation which knew no bounds. Because of these wicked angels, God determined that not just mankind, but "all flesh" had corrupted His way upon the earth (Gen.6:12), and that He would have to destroy "both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air" (verse 7) -- God was sorry that He had made "them" (same verse)! As a result of that Flood, "Every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark" (Gen.7:23). Sexual genetic cross-breeding with angels was a sin that God could not tolerate or countenance. Virtually the whole earth had to be destroyed! This indicates that animals, as well as mankind, had been the victims of angelic experimentation, and had become corrupted by the disobedient angels! An allusion to the nature of this great sin is found in the book of Jude. When we read Jude carefully, we notice that the fallen angels were guilty of the SAME SINS as were being committed by the wicked Sodomites -- sexual perversions of every kind. Notice: "And the angels which kept not their first estate [heaven], but left their own habitation [house or body, changing into flesh], he hath reserved in everlasting chains . . . EVEN AS Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them IN LIKE MANNER, giving themselves over to FORNICATION [Greek, porneia meaning "whoredom, adultery, sexual immorality," and sexual deviation and perversion of all types], and going after STRANGE FLESH [ i.e. even bestiality and sexual intercourse with animals!], are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire" (Jude 6-7). Thus Satan the devil was the first and the original "sexual deviate" -- the first sexual "pervert"! He was not only a liar and a murderer from the beginning, as Jesus Christ said (John 8:44), but he was also the first to "defile the flesh" (Jude 8). He and his angels, "as brute beasts," corrupted themselves (Jude 10), and led mankind down the same rebellious path, despising the dominion of Heaven! (verse 8). "As It Was in the Days of Noah" Jesus Christ made a remarkable prophecy which correlates with this ancient phenomenon. He declared, in the Mount Olivet prophecy, detailing the signs of His impending Second Coming, that in the "last days" of this earth civilization once again things would become so bad, so out of control, that they would be comparable to the days of Noah -- in every way! Notice! Speaking of these "End times," He declared, "For then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, n or ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should NO FLESH be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened" (Matt.24:21-22). Did you get it? These last days were prophesied to be EVEN WORSE than the time of Noah! Unless they are cut short, once again God would have to destroy the whole world in a final conflagration of fiery judgment! Moffatt translates this verse: "Had not those days been cut short, not a soul would be saved ALIVE; however, for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short" (Matt.24:22, Moffatt). But Jesus went even further. In a very pointed statement He declared: "But AS THE DAYS OF NOAH WERE, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matt.24:37-39). "And AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:26-27). What's wrong with eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage? Nothing, so long as they are done in accordance with the divine laws of God! God did not punish the antediluvian world because they were merely carrying on life as "normal." The fact is, they were NOT "normal" -- everything was perverted! They were eating the wrong things -- even cannibalism and human flesh and blood! They were entering the "forbidden zone," and performing the wrong kind of marriages! Some of these evil marriages involved wicked, fallen angels and women (Gen.6:1-4)! Others involved "homosexual marriages"! But notice! Jesus said, "so it shall be also in the days of the Son of man"! Once again, in our day, history has already begun to repeat itself! Another "War in Heaven" Once again, within the next few years, there is going to be "war in heaven" and Satan the devil will be cast out, and down to this earth. In the book of Revelation we read that in the time just ahead of us, Satan is once more going to stage an attack on God's throne in heaven. John records: "And there was WAR IN HEAVEN: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" (Rev.12:7-9). History repeats itself! Just as angels were cast out of heaven aeons ago, and left their first estate during the time of Noah, and performed wicked acts upon the earth, so once again -- in OUR TIME -- they will again be cast down to the earth, after suffering defeat in a great cosmic conflict -- war in heaven! Satan's final battle to seize God's Throne in heaven will fail, and he and his angels will be hurled down to the earth, filled with seething hatred. John goes on: "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time" (Rev.12:7-12). At that coming time Satan will launch a persecution of the people of God such as has never before occurred in all history. It will be a time of terrible tribulation and suffering. "And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman [the church of God, those truly zealous and obeying the commandments of God] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place [a place of safety, security and refuge!], where she is nourished for a time, times, and half a time [three and one half years], from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to MAKE WAR against the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Rev.12:13-17). When Satan and his demons are cast back down to this earth, filled with boiling hatred and seething violence, they will once again seek to pervert and destroy mankind. In a final attempt to avert their fate, they will embark on a program of sexual experimentation, deviation, and programming to attempt to find a "magic bullet" to enable them to defeat God, and His Plan! Demonic accounts of the rape and seduction of human beings by "flying saucer" aliens, today, is just the beginning of another round -- a "third irruption" -- of angelic beings cohabiting with women. Once again, the fruits will be devilish -- confusion, chaos, sensuality, strife, and every evil work (James 3:14-16). There may not be literal "giants," physically, this time. But there will be "men of renown," of incredible ability, walking in our midst -- perhaps looking just like other human beings. The strange absorption of the motion picture industry today with demonic rape and seduction -- movies such as "Rosemary's Baby," the "Amityville Horror," and others like "Independence Day," "Armageddon," and "Alien" -- seems to be focussing the world's attention on such concepts, in a perverted manner. Once again, Satan the devil and his angels are "pulling out the stops" and going "all out" to get their "revenge" on God by perverting the ways of God upon the earth, as they did in Noah's time! Jesus' meant literally what He said! "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man"! Satan isn't finished yet. But his time is almost up. But for those of us who worship and serve the Creator God, and Jesus Christ His Messiah, the time has come for us to prepare ourselves as never before, and get ready to meet our Redeemer, Saviour, coming King of kings and Lord of lords! As Jesus Himself said: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh" (Luke 21:28). Are these genetically deformed abominations going to re appear again in these last days?

WHO DO YOU THINK THE TEN KINGS ARE IN THIS LAST DAY PROPHECY OF REVELATION 17:12-16 ? These ten kings are going to destroy the woman (whore) riding on and controlling the beast (system). We know that billionaires usually control vast amounts of people to do their biddings and we have associated their wealth with a form of sovereignty, like being kings. What is Thelema? Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law". Thelema ("They-LEE-mah" or "They-LEH-mah") is a Greek word meaning "will" or "intention". It is also the name of a new spiritual philosophy which has arisen over the past several hundred years and is now gradually becoming established worldwide. One of the earliest mentions of this philosophy occurs in the classic Gargantua and Pantagruel written by Francois Rabelais in 1532. One episode of this epic adventure tells of the founding of an "Abbey of Thelema" as an institution for the cultivation of human virtues, which Rabelais identified as being squarely opposite the prevailing Christian proprieties of the time. The sole rule of the Abbey of Thelema was: "Do what thou wilt". This has become one of the basic tenets of Thelemic philosophy today. Although touched upon by various prominent visionary thinkers in the following few hundred years, the seeds of Thelema sown by Rabelais eventually came to fruition in the early part of this century when developed by an Englishman named Aleister Crowley. Crowley was a poet, author, mountaineer, magician, and member of the occult society known as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. In 1904, while traveling in Egypt with his wife Rose, Crowley became inextricably involved in a series of events which he claimed to inaugurate a new aeon of human evolution. These culminated in April when Crowley entered a state of trance and wrote down the three chapters of 220 verses which came to be called The Book of the Law (also known as Liber AL and Liber Legis). Among other things, this book declared: "The word of the law is Thelema" and "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law". Crowley spent the rest of his life developing the philosophy of Thelema as revealed by the Book of the Law. The result was a voluminous output of commentary and works relating to magick, mysticism, yoga, qabalah, and other occult subjects. Virtually all of this writing bears the influence of Thelema as interpreted and understood by Crowley in his capacity as prophet of the New Aeon. One theory holds that each chapter of the Book of the Law is associated with a particular aeon of human spiritual evolution. According to this view, Chapter One characterizes the Aeon of Isis, when the archetype of female divinity was paramount. Chapter Two relates to the Aeon of Osiris, when the archetype of the slain god became prominent, and the world’s patriarchal religions became established. Chapter Three heralds the dawning of a new aeon, the Aeon of Horus, the child of the Isis and Osiris. It is in this new aeon that the philosophy of Thelema will be fully revealed to humanity, and will become established as the primary paradigm for the spiritual evolution of the species. Some of the essential elements of belief in Thelema are: "Every man and every woman is a star." This is usually taken to mean that each individual is unique and has their own path in a spacious universe wherein they can move freely without collision. "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." and "thou hast no right but to do thy will." Most Thelemites hold that every person possesses a True Will, a single overall motivation for their existence. The Law of Thelema mandates that each person follow their True Will to attain fulfillment in life and freedom from restriction of their nature. Because no two True Wills can be in real conflict (according to "Every man and every woman is a star"), this Law also prohibits one from interfering with the True Will of any other person. The notion of absolute freedom for an individual to follow his or her True Will is a cherished one among Thelemites. This philosophy also recognizes that the main task of an individual setting out on the path of Thelema is to first discover his or her True Will, giving methods of self-exploration such as magick great importance. Furthermore, every True Will is different, and because each person has a unique point-of-view of the universe, no one can determine the True Will for another person. Each person must arrive at the discovery for themselves. "Love is the law, love under will." This is an important corollary to the above, indicating that the essential nature of the Law of Thelema is that of Love. Each individual unites with his or her True Self in Love, and so empowered, the entire universe of conscious beings unites with every other being in Love. Of course, with the emphasis on freedom and individuality inherent in Thelema, the beliefs of any given Thelemite are likely to differ from those of any other. In the Comment appended to The Book of the Law it is stated that: "All questions of the Law are to be decided only by appeal to my writings, each for himself." Although Thelema is sometimes referred to as a "religion", it accommodates the full range of individual beliefs, from atheism to polytheism. The important thing is that each person has the right to fulfill themselves through whatever beliefs and actions are best suited to them (so long as they do not interfere with the will of others), and only they themselves are qualified to determine what these are. If you understood that the word "HOLY" comes from India and refers to the worship of their deities, the statement "Holy Father" would mean nothing to you, simply because we are told to call no man Father. Lets have a real discussion about the works of the flesh and what Yahusha expects of us with this behaviour. First of all, this is what the Scripture actually says, Galatians 5:19-21. 19. And the works of the flesh are well known, which are; adultery, whoring, uncleanness, indecency, 20. idolatry, drug sorcery, hatred quarrels, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, fractions, 21. envy, murders, drunkenness, wild parties and the like - of which i fore-warned you,even as I said before, that those who practise such as these shall not inherit the reign of Yahuah. If we want to inherit the reign of Yahuah, we will not practice any of these behaviours towards our brothers or sisters. Now in our discussion would you say there should be a difference in how we can speak to a believer, as to an unbeliever ? Do you think we should be able to say to a brother or sister "that's a bit out of line" if we see the above behaviours manifesting without being abused? So what is going on in face book? People just take offence at anything, instead of being grateful that you have corrected them in love, they challenge your position and accuse you of lying. Who wants a position anyway ? It is pretty obvious what the works of the flesh are, as above. Today in the environment we have, we should be aware; that if we are going to speak out there are not many people who will receive us, except a real brother or sister. If we speak out to a Christian we will be abused, because they do not believe, if we speak out to a Messianic we will be abused and if we speak out to an unbeliever the same will happen. All these people who say they believe we find, when you speak out to them they will not receive you and want to make your name mud. The trouble is, how is the Bride going to reach the maturity level of behaviour which Yahusha wants her to, if she doesn't get rid of these spots and wrinkles of bad behaviour. There will be no bride if she is not willing to grow ? The thing is, it all has to start with the assembly. As you can see the works of the flesh need to be staked, which means destroyed, verse 25 says, "And those who are of Mashiak have staked the flesh with it's passions and desires". Brothers and Sisters we all have to help each other stake our bad behaviours by speaking out. If we get told, don't have a hissy fit but receive the correction in love. This way we will all get to know each other and the loving kindness of Yahusha. YAHUSHA HAS MADE IT PRETTY PLAIN AND EASY FOR US TO UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS HE WANTS IN OUR BEHAVIOUR OF HIS WORD. Our last post described the behavioural relationship needing to manifest within a marriage between the trinity of husband, wife and the Assembly i.e. displaying the fruits of righteousness in their behaviour. This behaviour will bring success. Today we will talk about "THE UN-STAKED BEHAVIOUR OF THE WORKS OF THE FLESH," which are listed of course for us in His precious word of Galatians 5:19-21. Obviously we all need instruction on how to live the Turah, but unfortunately men want to be teachers and raise themselves up a following, to do this they need to distort the issues. As you can see on face book this is a tremendous passion and desire for these desperates. Yahusha makes the obedient aware through His word & His Ruach that how we live the Turah is a BEHAVIOUR,one way or the other.So to give us the ease of understanding we can see Yahusha has shown us 2 types of behaviour. 1.BEHAVING THE UN-STAKED WORKS OF THE FLESH (which bring generational sin, sickness and curses with it). OR 2. BEHAVING THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (which brings peace, freedom, harmony and healthy blessings). One of the major problems today is that there are not many good honest "MENTORS" teaching these truths, otherwise we would hear them. TRUE BRIDAL BEHAVIOUR IS ONLY DISCERNED OR RECOGNISED SPIRITUALLY WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY BY MEMBERS CORRECTLY BEHAVING TURAH, SUCH AS EPHESIAN 5:21-33. The trinity of the husbands and wives plus Assembly Behaviour is the secret identity of the Bride of Yahusha and this behaviour can only be seen and understood by those who have passed the test of Heb 12:5-11. Those bearing the fruit of righteousness will recognise this immediately said behaviour, in a world full of horror and danger. Eph 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness, gentleness, self control. Against "SUCH," What does "such" mean here, if not "BEHAVIOUR," so against such behaviour "there is no Turah". THIS IS SO IMPORTANT FOR US TO SEE THAT IF WE LIVE WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WE SHOULD HAVE NO LAW AGAINST US. The scripture then goes on to say in verse 24, "And those who are of Mashiak have staked the flesh with its passions and the desires". The un-staked flesh again is another recognisable behaviour, one that is abominable to Yahusha, the bridal photos given, being part of that behaviour which is obviously not the fruit of righteousness. HOW ELSE CAN YOU SAY IT, BUT TRUTHFULLY. SO HERE GOES. My wife started to get angry, which I thought would pass, so I humoured what was niggeling her, to give her time to work through her issue, out of respect. Usually she handles these pesterings and comes out clean. If someone has an issue and starts behaving not like your wife, or husband, then we need to respectfully give them space to overcome and defeat the issue. If your partner seems to be endangering their sanity, so as to lose the peace of Yahusha in the home, then we must intervene and speak up to prevent our partner from falling asleep and losing the love. Manifesting such behaviour towards each other can eventuate in marriage destruction. At any rate getting back to the point I think it so important for the body (Yahusha's bride) to understand and discuss these arising issues so we all realise we are working together and agree with how to behave a marriage. My wife got herself to a stage where she was complaining in Yahusha's face about the lifestyle He had given her. So I said to her politely "WHAT IS IT! THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT YOUR ROLE ?" Well brothers this question knocked her for a sixer,back to consciousness. I then said, "LISTEN YOU ARE MY HELP MATE, YOUR ROLL IS TO HELP ME DO WHAT YAHUSHA GIVES US TO DO, WE HEAR HIS VOICE DISCUSS WHAT HE WANTS DONE AND ACHIEVE IT". She was flabbergasted realising how much she had fallen asleep and how ungrateful and rude she had been to Yahusha's loving kindness. At a certain point in a man’s life he realises he walks alone. When he looks behind him at the wreckage of chaos, financial blunders and desires he has invested his time and heart in he sees the control of this world that has had him by the throat, dragging him from person to person, project to project, heartbreak to heartbreak. He knows wholeheartedly that while he may be surrounded constantly by those who would have him a certain way and perform certain duties, those who love him very much - he indeed walks through this life alone. Is this a good realisation to wake up to or a bad one? It is not until a man realises he is alone that he ponders the purpose of his life and who he wants to spend it with (who he will serve/worship) and HOW HE WILL CHOOSE TO BEHAVE. It is not until a man sees every single part of HIS life as futile and worthless, that he cries our for YAHUSHA’S purpose and the life that He promises to those who would abandon everything and follow Him. Why must we be alone? The word `ALONE’ means to be APART, SEPARATE, ISOLATED, UNIQUE, UNEQUALLED. I also like the dictionary quote “to have no one else present around you”. I thought that was hilarious because in this world of walking dead we can be in a crowded room and yet have NO ONE TRULY PRESENT. We could be with our own family and friends and still have no one else truly present around us. Being present (to me) is BEING CONSCIOUS AND AWAKE, something I have spent the majority of my life asleep to. Being present is to be uncluttered by the pestering of unclean spirits and their agendas, not bogged down by bitternesses or grudges, free and organised in your life to hear Yahusha’s voice (which is always “uplifting and true to give us hope, life, peace and a future”). This is the door I have recently walked through and you must do it alone. Every person must account for their time on this earth to their Creator at the end, no matter who their friends were or what their spouse was doing - just them - and this is what Yahusha wants. As His Word says, He separates us unto Himself because He is a jealous Al. He loves us and we have all be swept up in so much worldly and religious (beastly) mindsets that sometimes it feels like He is using His great universal cro-bar to pry us away - closer to Him. Alone is a realisation, it is a maturity that many others haven’t attained yet. Now comes the crunch. Do you look back and miss all the happy times (were they really?) or do you take hold of your relationship with Yahusha through His Word and His voice in your ear, guiding you constantly and put on his love and compassion for those around you. Will you give up your life for the few people who abide in your sphere of existence. Following Yahusha is not what we thought. It’s not a global mission that rapes us all of our time and resources. It is a very deep, personal and beautiful, soft and gentle love that grows inside of us for the purpose of lifting those around us, those who are not present, who can’t see, who are lost and without hope, those under our own roof. Everyone loves Yahusha’s love, everyone wants attention and to be heard and understood. Why can’t we lend them our ears, our eyes and our hearts? Why do we always need to be given given, given, lifted, lifted, lifted. It’s so boring. Die to this world with all it’s lusts and desires and you will start to experience a resurrection of sorts. Yahusha will reveal your hearts desires to you and your purpose on this earth will become clear. It’s all about behaviour and overcoming the evil that flows through us. Or haven’t you faced yet that we are all evil? Marriage is a wonderful union and symbol of Yahusha’s plan and love but when Yahusha returns the only marriage will be with Him, the only wedding feast will be for Him and His Bride. Our earthly marriages will hold little importance in the New Yerushalyim. Why do I say this? Because no matter what your situation, how many wives or kids you have, you walk alone with your Master and He wants your undivided attention for His purposes. He is preparing us for something truly special. We are going to be witnesses of Scriptural Prophesy unfolding in this world as it all comes to an end. Still feel alone?

Brothers and Sisters let's look at this existence called 'life' . . . Here's a few bumper stickers which show the mindset of society: In the Dictionary LIFE is looked at in terms of BREATHING & EXISTING but who is satisfied with only that? Surely there's more to LIFE than simply BREATHING & EXISTING, . . . . surely! Sadly for a large percent of society this is all they achieve, no matter how many toys there are to play with. Is there any satisfaction in simply existing? As soon as more money rolls in, they suddenly find themselves in a new club or status where more money is required to simply exist, and so the cycle of chasing wealth rolls on. Even the billionaire's aren't satisfied. Is that happiness? In the Hebrew language LIFE encapsulates much more than just existing. It speaks of a journey, rebirth, nourishing, quickening, reviving. It also speaks of SUFFERING and DEATH. Our inner man is alive if we have been immersed into the Name of Yahusha. He has inserted a downpayment of HIS essence, HIS breath or HIS life into us to start and carry out our redemption process. Just like any investment though - He wants His downpayment to grow inside His Bride until she has been risen up perfected in the end. We are all in this process of overcoming and the BATTLE between our outer man (simply existing) experience and our inner man, (alive, overcoming and being filled with the daily love of Yahusha) experience is a REALITY for us. If we read Romans 8 we see that there is a battle going on between the mind of the flesh and the mind of the spirit (ruach). We are told that trying to live a fleshly existence (simply breathing, consuming and pleasuring) does not please Yahusha. If Yahusha is not pleased how are WE His Bride going to feel? . . . . happy and fulfilled, or empty and dead? Living for the flesh and chasing after things that sparkle is not going to make us happy or content is it. If we are putting to death the flesh with it’s lusts and desires, picking up our stake and following in Yahusha’s example, we will soon find the end of ourselves, and realise we keep going around and around the same old habits, desires and life’s lessons until we are sick of our fleshly existence and see what Yahusha is offering to all those who would SURRENDER and DIE. This is finding the end of yourself. Have you faced that you yourself in your flesh are capable of doing nothing good or successful or worthwhile? Yahusha tells us that those who are willing to give up their life (such as it is with it’s misery, lusts and wicked behaviours) will find life. Now who thinks that the life Yahusha gives us might be happier and give us more contentment than the (such as it is) current existence living in the flesh? True life means to suffer but haven’t we been doing that anyway because of our own stupidity and choices? So clearly suffering is not a problem for us, it must be the control part. We don't like giving up control of our lives do we? Not knowing where the wind (ruach) is going to blow, not able to prepare for it, having to whole-heartedly trust in Yahusha for our future, our children, our safety, our quality of life. YES this is what following Yahusha is all about. Trusting, listening and following. The battle is ever raging and we will never be finished warring against our flesh until Yahusha returns but have you wondered why everything you don’t want to do and behave - you end up doing and everything you don’t want to be or behave - you give in and do anyway? This is the battle. The flesh vs the Spirit. The outer man vs the inner man. Coming to the end of yourself is an understanding - none of us are at the end yet. But we want to be. Or is there something else you deem more important than this? Maybe there’s some more of the flesh you want to experience first? Anything? That cuisine, or that holiday, or those sneaky desires? Have you come to the end of your life and ready for Yahusha to take over, lead you and guide you? It's Your choice. Every good thing in our life comes from Yahusha and there are lots of amazing things in our lives that He blesses and provides us with. He is in control, not us. WE CAN DO NO GOOD OF OURSELF. We can’t control anything or anyone, we can’t change anyone’s mind about anything. The only good thing we can do is from Yahusha flowing through us. He gives us the thoughts and we obey and do them. If we don't do this . . . . if we don't keep walking down this redemption path of overcoming the evil that flows through us (from the unclean) . . . . . if we are not obedient then we feel the hand of wrath on us from Yahusha, who flogs and trains and disciplines us all until we bear the right fruit (behaviour) of righteousness and love . . . Have you come to the end yet?

In the 8th Century, a new sect called Karaites (aka Majorettes) altered the sound of the letter alef (A) to ayin (E) using niqqud markings they had invented to bend the pronunciation of vowels. This sect began with Anan Ben David in 767, who also adopted the sighted moon (crescent-sighting) of the Muslims while under a Muslim Caliphate in the city of Babylon. In 767 Anan was imprisoned to be executed for rebellion, but the Islamic Caliph in Babylon spared his life because he distinguished himself from his Yahidim brethren by adopting the sighted-moon of the Muslims. His new sect, the Masoretes (traditionalists) did not want anyone to properly speak the four vowels of the Name YOD-HAY-UAU-YAH (Yahuah), so they invented vowel distortions using niqqud and cantilation marks to re-train readers of Hebrew to mispronounce certain words. ALAHIM became ELOHIM and YAHU became YEHO. They left the name ABRAHAM alone otherwise it would be called EBRAHIM by everyone today. The Hebrew root AL (alef-lamed) became EL. This root is not a name, it is a pronoun referring to one who is lofty, upward, above, high, strong, mighty, etc…. Israel’s airline is EL-AL and means `to go upward’. When people today consider what the world offers them and what becoming a true disciple means, they usually choose the world. People today do not want to go through the process of becoming a disciple of Yahuah - they would rather go for a good time and not have to overcome the world, because it is too nice. The world offers us so many delightful things, while Yahusha offers us pain and suffering. Why is it like this ? YOU SEE WE ARE ALL BORN IN SIN WHICH MEANS OUR WHOLE MINDSET IS WICKED AND EVIL. TURAH SAYS THE HEART OF MAN IS DESPERATELY WICKED AND EVIL ABOVE ALL THINGS AND WE NEED TO BE CLEANSED. Do you think that just being immersed into the Name of Yahusha is going to deliver you and make you clean? That is just the outward sign that you are repenting and are willing to undertake the decision to become a true disciple. We all know the parable of where the seed falls and the tests that come with that. Hebrews 12:5-11 is the real test Yahusha gives His Disciples personally (My sheep hear My voice). We are told that the behaviour we manifest needs to be chastised, flogged and disciplined. In other words we are going to go through a process of death-like pain as we die to our old self and put on the new garments of righteousness to become part of His Bridal company. People will absolutely hate you enough to want to murder you. You will be hated and despised by all nations, because you're bearing the fruit of righteousness and it's a behaviour they cannot do. This shows them up and manifests the evil in them enough to want to destroy you. Sometimes this contempt even from family is enough to make you want to give in because the pain and hurt is so bad. At this depth of agony we are starting to understand the hatred of the sin that lives within us and why we want our sin behaviour to be destroyed. THIS IS WHERE WE UNDERSTAND WHY OUR SINLESS MASTER WENT THROUGH WHAT HE DID FOR US. He said we too must follow Him and if we are not willing to endure the test He has laid before us then we don't make it as sons .This is the only way to make the Bride Company and there are not many teaching true deliverance today, because of their own compromises. WHAT IS THE REASON FOR FALSE PROPHETS ?? 100 sears: false prophets If prophets, then, receive direct communication from a divine source10 and if the study of prophecy is to be largely conned to the Hebrew Bible, what then are false prophets? is, of course, is a matter of theological interpretation. “False prophet” itself is not a term found in the Hebrew Bible. Nabi’, or “prophet,” is used by biblical authors and redactors to refer both to prophets considered legiti- mate spokesmen for Yahweh as well as those that falsely claimed such authority. e veracity or falsehood of any given prophet depended on the ideology of the one giving the label, and biblical writers make it quite clear that they considered some prophets to be authentic and others usurpers. With this background about prophecy in ancient Israel, we can proceed to examine what the Hebrew Bible says about those prophets it condemns as “false.” Part II: What the Hebrew Bible Says about False Prophets Both archeological nds and the biblical text attest to the fact that ancient Israel’s religious life was far more diverse than that with which the Deuterono- mistic laws tolerated. Perhaps simply because of the nature of prophecy, one of the features of popular religion was the reality of multiple prophetic voices. Scholar R. R. Wilson noted: The possibility of false prophecy is inherent in any society that tolerates the existence of prophets. is is so because prophecy is essentially a process by which an intermediary (the prophet) facilitates communication between the human and divine realms. In various ways the prophet receives divine messages and then delivers them to human recipients. However, the pro- phetic experience is basically a private one, even though the prophet may describe it publicly. In the end the prophet’s audience can never be sure that the experience took place as described or that the prophet is accurately reporting the divine message. erefore, the reliability of any prophecy can be questioned, and the threat of false prophecy is always present.11 Whatever the real motives or inspirations of the Hebrew Bible’s “false prophets,” it is clear that the biblical redactors opposed them vehemently. On several occasions the “true” prophets singled out their competitors as a source for Israel’s apostasy from true worship of Yahweh. Jeremiah 23, for example, is largely a condemnation of the false prophets and teachers who led the people astray. Some highlights of the chapter include: 10. Jeremiah, of course, was particularly sensitive about this subject as his ministry included several confrontations with opposing prophetic voices. Several other prophets also blamed false teachers and prophets for much of Israel’s wickedness.12 What was the motivation and origin of the men that made up this hated group? On a few occasions the Hebrew Bible accuses them of seeking wealth.13 Other times they are called liars.14 Sometimes blame for false prophecy is placed upon the people themselves, who seek out leaders who will condone their in- iquity (a simple case of providing a product that meets the demands of the market).15 Other times still the false prophets are described as evildoers who teach wickedness to help support their own riotous living.16 In other cases the goal of the false prophet is described simply as trying to turn the people away from Yahweh, although we might assume that some of these other motives drove such teachings.17 On many occasions where false prophets appear they are tied to a royal court.18 Such an observation is what we would expect. Simple economics also dictates that if one decided to get into the false prophet profession, it would be most lucrative to do so in the service of the monarchy. Not every false prophet is given a direct royal connec- tion in the text, of course, but it appears in several cases that wicked kings and wicked prophets went hand in hand. Given that these deceiving prophets were so terrible, what fate does Yahweh give them? Deut 13:5 is very clear: “that prophet shall be put to death” (see also Deut 18:20). It is with this authority that Elijah slew the 450 priests of Baal. Often in Israel’s history the false prophets had popular support and thus were not executed; however, the “true” prophets prophesied that Yahweh himself would execute judgment.19 Similar fates are pronounced upon those that hearken to false prophets. Jeremiah’s warning that people who listen to false prophets walked a path “as slippery ways in the darkness” (Jer 23:12) was probably the lightest example; most of the time, destruction was the promise.20 BROTHERS & SISTERS DO WE SEE THIS ALSO HAPPENING TODAY? Global mental health From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Global mental health is the international perspective on different aspects of mental health. It is 'the area of study, research and practice that places a priority on improving mental health and achieving equity in mental health for all people worldwide'.[1] Taking into account cultural differences and country-specific conditions, it deals with the epidemiology of mental disorders in different countries, their treatment options, mental health education, political and financial aspects, the structure of mental health care systems, human resources in mental health, and human rights issues among others. The overall aim of the field of global mental health is to strengthen mental health all over the world by providing information about the mental health situation in all countries, and identifying mental health care needs in order to develop cost-effective interventions to meet those specific needs.[2][3][4] There is a growing body of criticism of the global mental health movement, where some see it as a "neo-colonial" or "missionary" project and as primarily a front for pharmaceutical companies seeking new clients for psychiatric drugs. [5] Mental, neurological, and substance use disorders make a substantial contribution to the global burden of disease (GBD).[6] This is a global measure of so-called disability-adjusted life years (DALY's) assigned to a certain disease/disorder, which is a sum of the years lived with disability and years of life lost due to this disease within the total population. Neuropsychiatric conditions account for 14% of the global burden of disease. Among non-communicable diseases, they account for 28% of the DALY's — more than cardiovascular disease or cancer. However it is estimated that the real contribution of mental disorders to the global burden of disease is even higher, due to the complex interactions and co-morbidity of physical and mental illness. Around the world, almost one million people die due to suicide every year, and it is the third leading cause of death among young people. The most important causes of disability due to health-related conditions worldwide include unipolar depression, alcoholism, schizophrenia, bipolar depression and dementia. In low- and middle-income countries, these conditions represent a total of 19.1% of all disability related to health conditions.[7] Treatment gap It is estimated that one in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives.[8] Although many effective interventions for the treatment of mental disorders are known, and awareness of the need for treatment of people with mental disorders has risen, the proportion of those who need mental health care but who do not receive it remains very high. This so-called "treatment gap" is estimated to reach between 76-85% for low- and middle-income countries, and 35-50% for high-income countries. Despite the acknowledged need, for the most part there have not been substantial changes in mental health care delivery during the past years.[9] Main reasons for this problem are public health priorities, lack of a mental health policy and legislation in many countries, a lack of resources – financial and human resources – as well as inefficient resource allocation.[10] In 2011, the World Health Organization estimated a shortage of 1.18 million mental health professionals, including 55,000 psychiatrists, 628,000 nurses in mental health settings, and 493,000 psychosocial care providers needed to treat mental disorders in 144 low- and middle-income countries. The annual wage bill to remove this health workforce shortage was estimated at about US$4.4 billion.[11] Interventions[edit] Information and evidence about cost-effective interventions to provide better mental health care are available. Although most of the research (80%) has been carried out in high-income countries, there is also strong evidence from low- and middle-income countries that pharmacological and psychosocial interventions are effective ways to treat mental disorders, with the strongest evidence for depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and hazardous alcohol use. Recommendations to strengthen mental health systems around the world have been first mentioned in the WHO's World Health Report 2001,[12] which focused on mental health: Provide treatment in primary care Make psychotropic drugs available Give care in the community Educate the public Involve communities, families and consumers Establish national policies, programs and legislation Develop human resources Link with other sectors Monitor community mental health Support more research Based on the data of 12 countries, assessed by the WHO Assessment Instrument for Mental Health Systems (WHO-AIMS),[13] the costs of scaling up mental health services by providing a core treatment package for schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, depressive episodes and hazardous alcohol use have been estimated. Structural changes in mental health systems according to the WHO recommendations have been taken into account. For most countries, this model suggests an initial period of investment of US$0.30 – 0.50 per person per year. The total expenditure on mental health would have to rise at least ten-fold in low-income countries. In those countries, additional financial resources will be needed, while in middle- and high-income countries the main challenge will be the reallocation of resources within the health system to provide better mental health service. Prevention[edit] Prevention is beginning to appear in mental health strategies, including the 2004 WHO report "Prevention of Mental Disorders", the 2008 EU "Pact for Mental Health" and the 2011 US National Prevention Strategy.[14] Stakeholders[edit] World Health Organization (WHO)[edit] Two of WHO's core programmes for mental health are WHO MIND (Mental health improvements for Nations Development) and Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP). The aim of mhGAP is to build partnerships for collective action and to reinforce the commitment of governments, international organizations and other stakeholders. The mhGAP Intervention Guide (mhGAP-IG) was launched in October 2010. It is a technical tool for the management of mental, neurological and substance use disorders in non-specialist health settings. The priority conditions included are: depression, psychosis, bipolar disorders, epilepsy, developmental and behavioural disorders in children and adolescents, dementia, alcohol use disorders, drug use disorders, self-harm/suicide and other significant emotional or medically unexplained complaints. Criticism[edit] One of the most prominent critics of the Movement for Global Mental Health has been China Mills, author of the book Decolonizing Global Mental Health: The Psychiatrization of the Majority World. [15] Mills writes that, "This book charts the creeping of psychology and psychiatry across the borders of everyday experience and across geographical borders, as a form of colonialism that comes from within and from outside, swallowed in the form of a pill. It maps an anxious space where socio-economic crises come to be reconfigured as individual crisis - as ‘mental illness’; and how potentially violent interventions come to be seen as ‘essential’ treatment."

World health report - Previous reports - Press kit Mental disorders affect one in four people - Treatment available but not being used. Geneva, 4 October— One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide. Treatments are available, but nearly two-thirds of people with a known mental disorder never seek help from a health professional. Stigma, discrimination and neglect prevent care and treatment from reaching people with mental disorders, says the World Health Organization (WHO). Where there is neglect, there is little or no understanding. Where there is no understanding, there is neglect. In a new report entitled "New Understanding, New Hope" the United Nations’ health agency seeks to break this vicious cycle and urges governments to seek solutions for mental health that are already available and affordable. Governments should move away from large mental institutions and towards community health care, and integrate mental health care into primary health care and the general health care system, says WHO. "Mental illness is not a personal failure. In fact, if there is failure, it is to be found in the way we have responded to people with mental and brain disorders," said Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, Director-General of WHO, on releasing the World Health Report. "I hope this report will dispel long-held doubts and dogma and mark the beginning of a new public health era in the field of mental health," she added. The report invites governments to make strategic decisions and choices in order to bring about positive change in the acceptance and treatment of mental disorders. The report says some mental disorders can be prevented; most mental and behavioural disorders can be successfully treated; and that much of this prevention, cure and treatment is affordable. Despite the chronic and long-term nature of some mental disorders, with the proper treatment, people suffering from mental disorders can live productive lives and be a vital part of their communities. Over 80% of people with schizophrenia can be free of relapses at the end of one year of treatment with antipsychotic drugs combined with family intervention. Up to 60% of people with depression can recover with a proper combination of antidepressant drugs and psychotherapy. Up to 70% of people with epilepsy can be seizure free when treated with simple, inexpensive anticonvulsants. A lack of urgency, misinformation, and competing demands are blinding policy-makers from taking stock of a situation where mental disorders figure among the leading causes of disease and disability in the world, says WHO. Depressive disorders are already the fourth leading cause of the global disease burden. They are expected to rank second by 2020, behind ischaemic heart disease but ahead of all other diseases. The responsibility for action lies with governments, says WHO. Currently, more than 40% of countries have no mental health policy and over 30% have no mental health programme. Around 25% of countries have no mental health legislation. The magnitude of mental health burden is not matched by the size and effectiveness of the response it demands. Currently, more than 33% of countries allocate less than 1% of their total health budgets to mental health, with another 33% spending just 1% of their budgets on mental health. A limited range of medicines is sufficient to treat the majority of mental disorders. About 25% of countries, however, do not have the three most commonly prescribed drugs used to treat schizophrenia, depression and epilepsy at the primary health care level. There is only one psychiatrist per 100 000 people in over half the countries in the world, and 40% of countries have less than one hospital bed reserved for mental disorders per 10 000 people. The poor often bear the greater burden of mental disorders, both in terms of the risk in having a mental disorder and the lack of access to treatment. Constant exposure to severely stressful events, dangerous living conditions, exploitation, and poor health in general all contribute to the greater vulnerability of the poor. The lack of access to affordable treatment makes the course of the illness more severe and debilitating, leading to a vicious circle of poverty and mental health disorders that is rarely broken. The report says new knowledge can have a tremendous impact on how individuals, societies and the public health community deal with mental disorders. We now know that large mental institutions no longer represent the best option for patients and families. Such institutions lead to a loss of social skills, excessive restriction, human rights violations, dependency, and reduced opportunities for rehabilitation. Countries should move towards setting up community care alternatives in a planned manner, ensuring that such alternatives are in place even as institutions are being phased out. "Science, ethics and experience point to clear paths to follow. In the face of this knowledge, a failure to act will reflect a lack of commitment to address mental health problems," said Dr Benedetto Saraceno, Director of WHO’s Mental Health and Substance Dependence department. The policy directions have never been so clear, says WHO. Governments who are just starting to address mental health will need to set priorities. Choices must be made among a large number of services and a wide range of prevention and promotion strategies. WHO’s message is that every country, no matter what its resource constraints, can do something to improve the mental health of its people. Stedman At the close of the book of Malachi in the Old Testament, the nation of Israel is back again in the land of Palestine after the Babylonian captivity, but they are under the domination of the great world power of that day, Persia and the Medio-Persian empire. In Jerusalem, the temple had been restored, although it was a much smaller building than the one that Solomon had built and decorated in such marvelous glory. Within the temple the line of Aaronic priests was still worshiping and carrying on the sacred rites as they had been ordered to do by the law of Moses. There was a direct line of descendancy in the priesthood that could be traced back to Aaron. But the royal line of David had fallen on evil days. The people knew who the rightful successor to David was, and in the book of Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, his name is given to us. It was Zerubbabel, the royal prince, yet there was no king on the throne of Israel, they were a puppet nation, under the domination of Persia. Nevertheless, although they were beset with weakness and formalism as the prophets have shown us, the people were united. There were no political schisms or factions among them, nor were they divided into groups or parties. Now when you open the New Testament to the book of Matthew, you discover an entirely different atmosphere -- almost a different world. Rome is now the dominant power of the earth. The Roman legions have spread throughout the length and breadth of the civilized world. The center of power has shifted from the East to the West, to Rome. Palestine is still a puppet state -- the Jews never did regain their own sovereignty -- but now there is a king on the throne. But this king is the descendant of Esau instead of Jacob, and his name is Herod the Great. Furthermore, the high priests who now sit in the seat of religious authority in the nation are no longer from the line of Aaron. They cannot trace their descendancy back, rather, they are hired priests to whom the office is sold as political patronage. The temple is still the center of Jewish worship, although the building has been partially destroyed and rebuilt about a half-dozen times since the close of the Old Testament. But now the synagogues that have sprung up in every Jewish city seem to be the center of Jewish life even more than the temple. At this time the people of Israel were split into three major parties. Two of them, the Pharisees and Sadducees, were much more prominent than the third. The smaller group, the Essenes, could hardly be designated as a party. Not long ago, however, they came into great prominence in our time and took on new significance because they had stowed away some documents in caves overlooking the Dead Sea -- documents which were brought to light again by the accidental discovery of an Arab shepherd boy and are known as the Dead Sea Scrolls. Now, what happened in these four hundred so-called "silent" years after the last of the inspired prophets spoke and the first of the New Testament writers began to write? You remember there is a word in Paul's letter to the Galatians that says, "When the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law." (Gal. 4:4) In other words, the time of our Lord's birth was God's appointed hour, the moment for which God had been long preparing. Some of the exciting preparations took place during that time of "silence," however, and you will understand your New Testament much better if you understand something of the historic events during the time between the Testaments. After Malachi had ceased his prophesying and the canon of the Old Testament closed -- that is, the number of the books in the Old Testament was fulfilled and the inspired prophets ceased to speak -- God allowed a period of time for the teachings of the Old Testament to penetrate throughout the world. During this time, he rearranged the scenes of history, much as a stage crew will rearrange the stage sets after the curtain has fallen, and when the curtain rises again there is an entirely new setting. In about 435 B.C., when the prophet Malachi ceased his writing, the center of world power began to shift from the East to the West. Up to this time, Babylon had been the major world power, but this was soon succeeded by the Medio-Persian empire, as you remember from ancient history. This shift had been predicted by the prophet Daniel, who said that there would rise up a bear who was higher on one side than the other, signifying the division between Media and Persia, with the Persians the predominant ones (Dan. 7:5). At the height of the Persian power there arose in the country of Macedonia (which we now know as Greece), north of the Black Sea, a man by the name of Philip of Macedon, who became a leader in his own country. He united the islands of Greece and became their ruler. His son was destined to become one of the great world leaders of all time, Alexander the Great. In 330 B.C. a tremendous battle between the Persians and the Greeks entirely altered the course of history. In that battle, Alexander, as a young man only twenty years old, led the armies of Greece in victory over the Persians and completely demolished the power of Persia. The center of world power then shifted farther west into Greece, and the Grecian empire was born. A year after that historic battle, Alexander the Great led his armies down into the Syrian world toward Egypt. On the way, he planned to lay siege to the city of Jerusalem. As the victorious armies of the Greeks approached the city, word was brought to the Jews in Jerusalem that the armies were on their way. The high priest at that time, who was a godly old man by the name of Jaddua (who, by the way, is mentioned in the Bible in the book of Nehemiah) took the sacred writings of Daniel the prophet and, accompanied by a host of other priests dressed in white garments, went forth and met Alexander some distance outside the city. All this is from the report of Josephus, the Jewish historian, who tells us that Alexander left his army and hurried to meet this body of priests. When he met them, he told the high priest that he had had a vision the night before in which God had shown him an old man, robed in a white garment, who would show him something of great significance to himself, according to the account, the high priest then opened the prophecies of Daniel and read them to Alexander. In the prophecies Alexander was able to see the predictions that he would become that notable goat with the horn in his forehead, who would come from the West and smash the power of Medio-Persia and conquer the world. He was so overwhelmed by the accuracy of this prophecy and, of course, by the fact that it spoke about him, that he promised that he would save Jerusalem from siege, and sent the high priest back with honors. How true that account is, is very difficult at this distance in time to say; that, at any event, is the story. Alexander died in 323 B.C. when he was only about thirty-three years old. He had drunk himself to death in the prime of his life, grieved because he had no more worlds to conquer. After his death, his empire was torn with dissension, because he had left no heir. His son had been murdered earlier, so there was no one to inherit the empire of Alexander. After some time, however, the four generals that had led Alexander's armies divided his empire between them. Two of them are particularly noteworthy to us. One was Ptolemy, who gained Egypt and the northern African countries; the other was Seleucus, who gained Syria, to the north of Palestine. During this time Palestine was annexed by Egypt, and suffered greatly at the hands of Ptolemy. In fact, for the next one hundred years, Palestine was caught in the meat-grinder of the unending conflicts between Syria on the north and Egypt on the south. Now if you have read the prophecies of Daniel, you will recall that Daniel was able, by inspiration, to give a very accurate and detailed account of the highlights of these years of conflict between the king of the North (Syria) and the king of the South (Egypt). The eleventh chapter of Daniel gives us a most amazingly accurate account of that which has long since been fulfilled. If you want to see just how accurate the prophecy is, I suggest you compare that chapter of Daniel with the historical record of what actually occurred during that time. H. A. Ironside's little book, The 400 Silent Years, gathers that up in some detail. During this time Grecian influence was becoming strong in Palestine. A party arose among the Jews called the Hellenists, who were very eager to bring Grecian culture and thought into the nation and to liberalize some of the Jewish laws. This forced a split into two major parties. There were those who were strong Hebrew nationalist, who wanted to preserve everything according to the Mosaic order. They resisted all the foreign influences that were coming in to disrupt the old Jewish ways. This party became known as the Pharisees, which means "to separate." They were the separationists who insisted on preserving traditions. They grew stronger and stronger, becoming more legalistic and rigid in their requirements, until they became the target for some of the most scorching words our Lord ever spoke. They had become religious hypocrites, keeping the outward form of the law, but completely violating its spirit. On the other hand, the Hellenists -- the Greek lovers -- became more and more influential in the politics of the land. They formed the party that was known in New Testament days as the Sadducees, the liberals. They turned away from the strict interpretation of the law and became the rationalists of their day, ceasing to believe in the supernatural in any way. We are told in the New Testament that they came again and again to the Lord with questions about the supernatural, like "What will happen to a woman who has been married to seven different men? In the resurrection, whose wife will she be?" (Matt. 22:23-33) They did not believe in a resurrection, but in these questions they were trying to put Jesus on the spot. Now there was also a young rebel Jewish priest who married a Samaritan, went down to Samaria, and in rebellion against the Jewish laws, built a temple on Mount Gerizim that became a rival of the temple in Jerusalem. This caused intense, fanatical rivalry between the Jews and the Samaritans, and this rivalry is also reflected in the New Testament. Also during this time, in Egypt, under the reign of one of the Ptolemies, the Hebrew scriptures were translated for the first time into another language, in about 284 B.C. A group of 70 scholars was called together by the Egyptian king to make a translation of the Hebrew scriptures. Book by book they translated the Old Testament into Greek. When they had finished, it was given the name of the Septuagint, which means 70, because of the number of translators. This became the Greek version of the Hebrew Bible. From it many of the quotations in the New Testament are derived. That is why New Testament quotations of Old Testament verses are sometimes in different words -- because they come from the Greek translation. The Septuagint is still in existence today, and is widely used in various parts of the world. It is still a very important document. A little later on, about 203 B.C., a king named Antiochus the Great came into power in Syria, to the north of Palestine. He captured Jerusalem from the Egyptians and began the reign of Syrian power over Palestine. He had two sons, one of whom succeeded him and reigned only a few years. When he died, his brother took the throne. This man, named Antiochus Epiphanes, became one of the most vicious and violent persecutors of the Jews ever known. In fact, he is often called the Antichrist of the Old Testament, since he fulfills some of the predictions of Daniel concerning the coming of one who would be "a contemptible person" and "a vile king." His name (which he modestly bestowed upon himself) means "Antiochus the Illustrious." Nevertheless, some of his own courtiers evidently agreed more with the prophecies of Daniel, and they changed two letters in his title. from Epiphanes to Epipames, which means "the mad man." His first act was to depose the high priest in Jerusalem. thus ending the long line of succession, beginning with Aaron and his sons through the many centuries of Jewish life. Onias the Third was the last of the hereditary line of priests. Antiochus Epiphanes sold the priesthood to Jason, who was not of the priestly line. Jason, in turn, was tricked by his younger brother Menelaus, who purchased the priesthood and then sold the golden vessels of the temple in order to make up the tribute money. Epiphanes overthrew the God-authorized line of priests. Then, and under his reign, the city of Jerusalem and all the religious rites of the Jews began to deteriorate as they came fully under the power of the Syrian king. In 171 B.C. Antiochus invaded Egypt and once again Palestine was caught in the nutcracker of rivalry. Palestine is the most fought-over country in the world, and Jerusalem is the most captured city in all history. It has been pillaged, ravished, burned and destroyed more than 27 times in its history. While Antiochus was in Egypt, it was reported that he had been killed in battle, and Jerusalem rejoiced. The people organized a revolt and overthrew Menelaus, the pseudo-priest. When report reached Antiochus (who was very much alive in Egypt) that Jerusalem was delighted at the report of his death, he organized his armies and swept like a fury back across the land, falling upon Jerusalem with terrible vengeance. He overturned the city, regained his power, and guided by the treacherous Menelaus, intruded into the very Holy of Holies in the temple itself. Some 40,000 people were slain in three days of fighting during this terrible time. When he forced his way into the Holy of Holies, he destroyed the scrolls of the law and, to the absolute horror of the Jews, took a sow and offered it upon the sacred altar. Then with a broth made from the flesh of this unclean animal, he sprinkled everything in the temple, thus completely defiling and violating the sanctuary. It is impossible for us to grasp how horrifying this was to the Jews. They were simply appalled that anything like this could ever happen to their sacred temple. It was that act of defiling the temple which is referred to by the Lord Jesus as the "desolating sacrilege" which Daniel had predicted (Matt. 24:15), and which also became a sign of the coming desolation of the temple when Antichrist himself will enter the temple, call himself God, and thus defile the temple in that time. As we know from the New Testament, that still lies in the future. Daniel the prophet had said the sanctuary would be polluted for 2300 days. (Dan. 8:14) In exact accordance with that prophecy, it was exactly 2300 days -- six and a half years -- before the temple was cleansed. It was cleansed under the leadership of a man now famous in Jewish history, Judas Maccabaeus. He was one of the priestly line who, with his father and four brothers, rose up in revolt against the Syrian king. They captured the attention of the Israelites, summoned them to follow them into battle, and in a series of pitched battles in which they were always an overwhelming minority, overthrew the power of the Syrian kings, captured Jerusalem, and cleansed the temple. The day they cleansed the temple was named the Day of Dedication, and it occurred on the 25th day of December. On that date Jews still celebrate the Feast of Dedication each year. The Maccabees, who were of the Asmonean family, began a line of high priests known as the Asmonean Dynasty. Their sons, for about the next three or four generations, ruled as priests in Jerusalem, all the time having to defend themselves against the constant assaults of the Syrian army who tried to recapture the city and the temple. During the days of the Maccabees there was a temporary overthrow of foreign domination, which is why the Jews look back to this time and regard it with such tremendous veneration. During this time, one of the Asmonean priests made a league with the rising power in the West, Rome. He signed a treaty with the Senate of Rome, providing for help in the event of Syrian attack. Though the treaty was made in all earnestness and sincerity, it was this pact which introduced Rome into the picture and history of Israel. As the battles between the two opposing forces waged hotter and hotter, Rome was watchful. Finally, the Governor of Idumea, a man named Antipater and a descendant of Esau, made a pact with two other neighboring kings and attacked Jerusalem to try to overthrow the authority of the Asmonean high priest. This battle raged so fiercely that finally Pompey, the Roman general, who happened to have an army in Damascus at the time, was besought by both parties to come and intervene. One side had a little more money than the other, and persuaded by that logical argument, Pompey came down from Damascus, entered the city of Jerusalem -- again with terrible slaughter -- overthrew the city and captured it for Rome. That was in 63 B.C. From that time on, Palestine was under the authority and power of Rome. Now Pompey and the Roman Senate appointed Antipater as the Procurator of Judea, and he in turn made his two sons kings of Galilee and Judea. The son who became king of Judea is known to us a Herod the Great. ("Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem saying, 'Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?'" (Matt. 2:1, 2) Meanwhile, the pagan empires around had been deteriorating and disintegrating. Their religions had fallen upon evil days. The people were sick of the polytheism and emptiness of their pagan faiths. The Jews had gone through times of pressure and had failed in their efforts to re-establish themselves, and had given up all hope. There was a growing air of expectancy that the only hope they had left was the coming at last of the promised Messiah. In the East, the oriental empires had come to the place where the wisdom and knowledge of the past had disintegrated and they too were looking for something. When the moment came when the star arose over Bethlehem, the wise men of the East who were looking for an answer to their problems saw it immediately and came out to seek the One it pointed to. Thus, "when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son." It is amazing how God utilizes history to work out his purposes. Though we are living in the days that might be termed "the silence of God," when for almost 2,000 years there has been no inspired voice from God, we must look back -- even as they did during those 400 silent years -- upon the inspired record and realize that God has already said all that needs to be said, through the Old and New Testaments. God's purposes have not ended, for sure. He is working them out as fully now as he did in those days. Just as the world had come to a place of hopelessness then, and the One who would fulfill all their hopes came into their midst, so the world again is facing a time when despair is spreading widely across the earth. Hopelessness is rampant everywhere and in this time God is moving to bring to fulfillment all the prophetic words concerning the coming of his Son again into the world to establish his kingdom. How long? How close? Who knows? But what God has done in history, he will do again as we approach the end of "the silence of God." Prayer: Our Father, we are constantly encouraged as we see the fact that our faith is grounded upon historic things; that it touches history on every side. It is integrally related to life. We pray that our own faith may grow strong and be powerful as we see the despair around us, the shaking of foundations, the changing of that which has long been taken to be permanent, the overthrowing of empires and the rising of others. Lord, we are thankful that we may look to you and realize that you are the One who does not change. The One whose word is eternal. As the Lord Jesus himself said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall never pass away." We pray in Christ's name, Amen.

Some indeed, never came back and some went even further into India and China, but the majority did return, although by then, they had lost the distinctions between tribes and knew themselves only as Israel, Levi, and Cohen. Even after the 2nd exile which took 1Million Jews into the Roman Empire, under Emperor Hadrian in 137 CE, the majority of the population between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan remained Jewish and the successive invasions and colonizations which followed for 1700 years didn't change that fact. The census of the population of 1884 showed that the Jews constituted 80% of the population in Jerusalem, Tzfat, Shechem, Hebron, 50% in Jaffa and Haifa, 30% in Gaza, and Tiberias (the majority of Gaza and Tiberias population being non-Arab Christian until the "gift"of Tiberias to the Arabs by the British Mandatory Authority in 1947 and the invasion of Gaza by Egypt in 1948). Nowadays, Israel produces more food than it needs for it's entire population (Jews, Muslims, Druzes, Samaritans, Circassians, etc) and needs to export 1/3 of its production to avoid a glut. Furthermore, look closer: the Jewish villages and cities are flourishing with renewed fauna and flora and the birthrate of Israeli-Jews is nearly twice to three times the birthrate of any occidental country, in spite of using very little water (and allowing both contraception and abortion on demand, neither being forbidden by the Torah). The Arab villages are allocated 1&1/2 time the amount of water needed by Jewish villages, yet they struggle to grow a few olive trees among the rocks and their birthrate is steadily going down. Ancient Jewish History: The Two Kingdoms (c.920 BCE - 597 BCE) Ancient Jewish History: Table of Contents | The Twelve Tribes | The Holy Temple Background The experiment with the opulence and power of the great eastern kingdoms had ended in disaster for Israel. King Solomon created the wealthiest and most powerful central government the Hebrews would ever see, but he did so at an impossibly high cost. Land was given away to pay for his extravagances and people were sent into forced labor into Tyre in the north. When Solomon died, between 926 and 922 BCE, the ten northern tribes refused to submit to his son, Rehoboam, and revolted. From this point on, there would be two kingdoms of Hebrews: in the north - Israel, and in the south - Judah. The Israelites formed their capital in the city of Samaria, and the Judaeans kept their capital in Jerusalem. These kingdoms remained separate states for over two hundred years. The history of the both kingdoms is a litany of ineffective, disobedient, and corrupt kings. When the Hebrews had first asked for a king, in the book of Judges, they were told that only God was their king. When they approached Samuel the Prophet, he told them the desire for a king was an act of disobedience and that they would pay dearly if they established a monarchy. The history told in the Hebrew book, Kings, bears out Samuel's warning. The Hebrew empire eventually collapses, Moab successfully revolts against Judah, and Ammon successfully secedes from Israel. Within a century of Solomon's death, the kingdoms of Israel and Judah were left as tiny little states - no bigger than Connecticut - on the larger map of the Middle East. As history proved time and again in the region, tiny states never survived long. Located directly between the Mesopotamian kingdoms in the northeast and powerful Egypt in the southwest, the Hebrew Kingdoms were of the utmost commercial and military importance to all these warring powers. Being small was a liability. The Conquest of Israel In 722 BC, the Assyrians conquered Israel. The Assyrians were aggressive and effective; the history of their dominance over the Middle East is a history of constant warfare. In order to assure that conquered territories would remain pacified, the Assyrians would force many of the native inhabitants to relocate to other parts of their empire. They almost always chose the upper and more powerful classes, for they had no reason to fear the general mass of a population. They would then send Assyrians to relocate in the conquered territory. When they conquered Israel, they forced the ten tribes to scatter throughout their empire. For all practical purposes, you might consider this a proto-Diaspora ("diaspora"="scattering"), except that these Israelites disappear from history permanently; they are called "the ten lost tribes of Israel." Why this happened is difficult to assess. The Assyrians did not settle the Israelites in one place, but scattered them in small populations all over the Middle East. When the Babylonians later conquered Judah, they, too, relocate a massive amount of the population. However, they move that population to a single location so that the Jews can set up a separate community and still retain their religion and identity. The Israelites deported by the Assyrians, however, do not live in separate communities and soon drop their Yahweh religion and their Hebrew names and identities. The Samaritans One other consequence of the Assyrian invasion of Israel involved the settling of Israel by Assyrians. This group settled in the capital of Israel, Samaria, and they took with them Assyrian gods and cultic practices. But the people of the Middle East were above everything else highly superstitious. Even the Hebrews didn't necessarily deny the existence or power of other peoples' gods—just in case. Conquering peoples constantly feared that the local gods would wreak vengeance on them. Therefore, they would adopt the local god or gods into their religion and cultic practices. Within a short time, the Assyrians in Samaria were worshipping Yahweh as well as their own gods; within a couple centuries, they would be worshipping Yahweh exclusively. Thus was formed the only major schism in the Yahweh religion: the schism between the Jews and the Samaritans. The Samaritans, who were Assyrian and therefore non-Hebrew, adopted almost all of the Hebrew Torah and cultic practices; unlike the Jews, however, they believed that they could sacrifice to God outside of the temple in Jerusalem. The Jews frowned on the Samaritans, denying that a non-Hebrew had any right to be included among the chosen people and angered that the Samaritans would dare to sacrifice to Yahweh outside of Jerusalem. The Samaritan schism played a major role in the rhetoric of Jesus of Nazareth; and there are still Samaritans alive today around the city of Samaria. The Conquest of Judah "There but for the grace of god go I." Certainly, the conquest of Israel scared the people and monarchs of Judah. They barely escaped the Assyrian menace, but Judah would be conquered by the Chaldeans about a century later. In 701, the Assyrian Sennacherib would gain territory from Judah, and the Jews would have suffered the same fate as the Israelites. But by 625 BC, the Babylonians, under Nabopolassar, would reassert control over Mesopotamia, and the Jewish king Josiah aggressively sought to extend his territory in the power vacuum that resulted. But Judah soon fell victim to the power struggles between Assyrians, Babylonians, and Egyptians. When Josiah's son, Jehoahaz, became king, the king of Egypt, Necho (put into power by the Assyrians), rushed into Judah and deposed him, and Judah became a tribute state of Egypt. When the Babylonians defeated the Egyptians in 605 BC, then Judah became a tribute state to Babylon. But when the Babylonians suffered a defeat in 601 BC, the king of Judah, Jehoiakim, defected to the Egyptians. So the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, raised an expedition to punish Judah in 597 BC. The new king of Judah, Jehoiachin, handed the city of Jerusalem over to Nebuchadnezzar, who then appointed a new king over Judah, Zedekiah. In line with Mesopotamian practice, Nebuchadnezzar deported around 10,000 Jews to his capital in Babylon; all the deportees were drawn from professionals, the wealthy, and craftsmen. Ordinary people were allowed to stay in Judah. This deportation was the beginning of the Exile. The story should have ended there. However, Zedekiah defected from the Babylonians one more time. Nebuchadnezzar responded with another expedition in 588 and conquered Jerusalem in 586. Nebuchadnezzar caught Zedekiah and forced him to watch the murder of his sons; then he blinded him and deported him to Babylon. Again, Nebuchadnezzr deported the prominent citizens, but the number was far smaller than in 597: somewhere between 832 and 1577 people were deported. The Hebrew kingdom, started with such promise and glory by David, was now at an end. It would never appear again, except for a brief time in the second century BC, and to the Jews forced to relocate and the Jews left to scratch out a living in their once proud kingdom, it seemed as if no Jewish nation would ever exist again. It also seemed as if the special bond that Yahweh had promised to the Hebrews, the covenant that the Hebrews would serve a special place in history, had been broken and forgotten by their god. This period of confusion and despair, a community together but homeless in the streets of Babylon, makes up one of the most significant historical periods in Jewish history: the Exile.

After the division of the kingdom Samaria extended to Galilee. After the campaign of Tiglath-Pileser III in 732 B.C. the Assyrian province of Samaria was called Samarina. This is where the Assyrians settled new foreigners to mingle with the people of Israel, and this time the became known as Samaritans. The Hill Country of Samaria remained a province during the Persian period. Samaria was known for its rich agriculture, wheat and barley, grapes and olive vineyards. Located in Samaria was a very important international trade route called the Via Maris (the coastal highway). After the Jews returned from Babylon to rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem the Samaritans came to help, but their offer was rejected and thus the ridiculing began (Ezra 4; Neh. 2:10). It is interesting to note that the governor of the province of Samaria in the latter half of the 5th century B.C., whose name was Sanballat (Neh. 2: 10, 19) along with his sons are mentioned in the recently discovered ancient papyri of the Jewish community in Elephantine, Egypt. The Roman General Pompeii annexed Samaria to the Roman province of Syria in 63 B.C. later Augustus gave the capital of Samaria to Hero.
